Your supposed to inflate the tire first to operating pressure. Then you should coat the plug with rubber cement. Finally, your supposed to drive at a low speed for a few miles right after so the rubber heats up and bonds together. When your crappy plug job fails, you can do it right the next time.
that will last the life of the tire. my lawn tractor has 6 plugs in it .the next time you do it fill the tire with air first. it makes it a lot easier to plug and keep the tire on the ground thanks for posting
take it off the wheel and patch it. That's a plug, and you're supposed to have air in the tire while you plug it. So when you ream it you get all the cords surrounding the injury cleaned. it doesn't need a few hours, a plug is an instant repair, designed to get you somewhere to have your tire fixed properly.
Surprisingly, those plugs can last a long time. But I would cut all but a tiny bit off (use a razor blade) the end so only a little bit protrudes from the tire. Otherwise something might rub against the part of the plug sticking out and will rip the plug out of the tire. 5/5
Yep, that should be OK on a slow moving tractor... the whole side wall issue is just for cars that travel at high speeds, and take corners on 2 wheels.... your tractor does not do anything close to that.... oh WAIT, YOU are CHUCK, your tractor may end up on 2 wheels after all.... :-p
thats a plug not a patch an there is most likely a tube in it an you put a hole in your tube you sould just take it some where next time

This is a tire PLUG, not a patch. Patch is done from the inside of the tire, after removing the tire from the rim.

That's a tire plug, not a patch. big difference.

isnt this called plugging.. patching requires you to seal the inside of the tyre..

Just keep it off the highway and you'll be fine lol. I use those plugs all the time on car, truck, tractor and trailer tires. They work great.
