  • I remember when I first watched The Times of Harvey MIlk. Even though I'm too young to remember the 70s, watching this, I felt as though I was there, listening to this speech Harvey Milk made, and just crying my eyes out with joy!

  • Just thought I'd let you know I'm from Oklahoma too. Tulsa. Left in 1981 after graduation from high school.

Thank you for this most important post.

  • This 90-second excerpt changed my life in January of 1986. I told my mother I was gay and proceded to tell each family member after that. Harvey was right. Once you DO tell your family you WILL feel SO much better. I cannot overestimate how he changed my life, seven years after his death. Just listen to how his voice breaks on the word "so" when he says "you will feel SO much better." It is so true and he was a hero. My hero.

  • True then, true today.

  • Ha ha, do you tell people in the stores you shop in?

That's a great speech. Simple and impactful (if that word exists).

  • He was so right. We owe him something.

  • RIP*

  • This is my one of my favorite speeches. God Bless Harvey Milk. RIPe
