@Raicuda Compaq is HP's low budget brand, and they don't even use the best quality components on their own branded laptops..HP's a good brand though, just gotta be careful with their plastics :) lol

he guys i have a question i too have a compaq notebook and the air vent in the back tends to get very hot over time. i was wondering if this is normal cause the vent is like on full throttle. is there something i can do?

i bought one actually its quite good though, but mine was a latest model of hp2230s...

it has 2.0ghz/2gb ram( i upgrade it to 4gb ram)

built-in camera & bluetooth....

250GB

but the cons of this is the battery it has only a 4cell li-on (but i want to upgrade it to 8cell li-on...)

and also i never recommend using the mouse synaptic touchpad bcoz the natural color will fade eventually, so i still recommend using usb mouse or wireless mouse but all in all its a great notebook...

I run Vista with 1gb there's no problems, you must have that sidebar/aero shit on sucking up your memory. Vista itself isn't very heavy on memory just don't go below 1gb or there can be some problems though I've run it with 512mb

Well I havent a clue but you could spend millions on a server computer. But I have to say one of the finest computers are made by HardCoreComputer. com they use oil emersion so you can overclock quite some bit. But otherwise you could go for a core i7 machine with 12GB of DDR3 2000Mhz (OCZ Blade series)
