  • I remember this show. But, I didn't watch it like after '93. I even tried solved the mystery. good times.

  • I remember this show from when I was kid...lol It was one of my favorites along with the magic school bus. I wish kids now had great shows like this to watch so they can actually learn something while they watch t.v

  • i want their outfits.

  • Beautiful North Korea.

  • there were tons of educational shows when we were growing up. nowadays it's nothing but mindless crap on tv for kids.

  • @EightBitYoshi Carmen owns waldo. No one ever finds Carmen at the end of the game except for a few random instances. After a while, you memorize where Waldo's hiding. Carmen's so good, she's still hiding now and everyone's forgotten she was still playing. Waldo's a chump.

  • What happened to game shows like this for the kids where it was more than just a physical game? I remember always wanting to be on this show, What Would You Do, and Guts. T_T Looking back at it now I can see how badly I would have lost.

  • LMAO...THATS ME AT 20 seconds in. Oh my goodness...dorky.

  • keep rewinding to VICK THE SLIIIICK 0:55

    0. God.

  • My favorite show when I was a kid!

  • PBS used to rock back in the 90's!

  • @sjmatiak Seriously though!! This and Ghost Writer were my shows!!

  • Jesus yourr dumb, its Lynne Thigpen God rest her soul. Amazing actress, and left us way too early. Oprah effin Winfrey right, that must be it!

  • is the black female host oprah winfrey?

  • @Unclesamslair no, but she is fine as hell. i would bone that bimbo anytime

  • I wondered..did they ever found that woman.?

  • If I ever become a kid, I'm going to show my kids these shows and not shit like Jersey Shore...

  • @GaaraBabyEater wow, its not gonna happen, unless you can turn back time

  • The best shows in world are ones that are still interesting whether you are 9 or 99.

Examples: bill nye, where in the world is carmen santiago, magic school bus, wishbone, garfield and friends, teenage mutant ninja turtles, kratt's creatures, etc.

thumbs up so they can make more

  • i loved this show as a kid... but i dont remember it being so douchechilly

  • Oh man I love this show so much more now that im an adult.

  • I miss this show so much it was actually a homework assignment I enjoyed and loved too do.....Where is that now and days??? What the hell is happening too the kids now and days it truly is sad

  • I haven't seen this show in like 15 years. Mind is blown.

  • They need to bring this show back! ASAP!

  • I remember I used to love this show as a kid, I was a huge fan of the Chief.

I bet as a kid, if I had seen this episode that 'takes place' in Nara, Japan, I never would have guessed that I would've gotten to actually visit Japan (including the Nara Deer Park) before I went to high school.

  • I have played this game on my computer and as I was playing this game on my computer, I noticed that the strange and unfair thing is that here on this show, they tell who the crook is but, on the computer game, you have to try to find out who the crook is before a certain day and time by getting clues from other people where they say things like "the crook had this color hair", "the crook said their favorite hobby was this", "the crook was driving this kind of car", etc.

  • @afriendofbean yeah the show was better than the game, I remember loving this show, think it was on the same timeframe as like, Are you afraid of the dark, and Pete & Pete, salute your shorts, and other awesome 90s shows. I don't think this was on Nickelodeon, I forget what channel it was :/

  • Yes I agree. The show was better than the game since when I was playing the game, I would sometimes get frustrated whenever I made it to the end of the game for not having the warrant because of unclear clues or not too many clues, or I would have the warrant for the wrong crook, or I would run out of time in the middle of the game. I loved this show too and it's too bad Greg Lee wasn't the host of "Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego" where he either wasn't interested or he was too busy.

  • One other thing since I ran out of characters in my last message.

The shows "Are You Afraid Of The Dark", "Pete & Pete", and "Salute Your Shorts" were Nickelodean shows but, "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego" and "Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego" were PBS shows. They usually came on television at 5:00 pm on weekdays right after Sesame Street where during the 90s Sesame Street was on television from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, then the "Carmen Sandiego" shows came on afterwards.

  • @afriendofbean oh man it was so long ago, I feel so old right now. Thanks for making it all a bit clearer to me. Nostalgia is some trippy stuff.

  • @trancedsailor it was on whro

  • This was a great kids show. Too bad they don't make them like that anymore.

  • I agree. It was a great show. Right after they took this show off air, they put a new Carmen Sandiego show called "Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego" which was also a great show. In case you don't know that show, Lynn Thigpen (the chief here) was on the new Carmen Sandiego show as the chief again but, Greg Lee (the host here) was not the host of the new Carmen Sandiego show, instead the new host was Kevin Shinick.

  • this game was so freaking hard!!!

  • Ah man this was a fun show, after Sesame Street I would tune into this next. Those were such great afternoons ^_^.

  • poor poor stephen....

  • Vic the Slick is such a dick making that deer disappear....

  • I tried so hard to get on this show. I did get a T-shirt for some geography contest they had with Nat'l Geographic one time. Good times.

  • Straight up classic. I'm 20 and I'd watch this shit if they bought it back today.

  • this was a great show

  • I hope Hub picks this series up and starts playing it.

  • After giving the Gumshoes clues, she tells other NY gangs to get after The Warriors.

  • i agree with all the people that say they need to bring this show back. it was a great show. i loved watching it when it was on.

  • Shows like this make me feel sorry for today's generation. The 90s kids shows totally ruled!

  • God i used to love this show when i was younger! The shows for kids of today dont have anything compared to what i grew up with.

  • the chief was awesome! i miss her!

  • lynne thigpen she made me a huge fan of her work after watching this.

  • Yes she was great on this show and on "Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego." It's too bad that she passed away.

  • Vic the Slick disliked this video two times.

  • did anyone check san diego?

  • They sure do!! It was so much fun and educational!!

  • Watching this makes me even more grateful that I grew up with this type of thing on television instead of what kids have to watch now. Reality shows with snobby, rich bimbos or shows glorifying teen pregnancy.

  • @KBluetrump7 word. back in our day we had writers that respected our intelligence, and appealed to it, believing kids can do more than stare blankly at a screen and learn jack shit dandy all day.

  • @KBluetrump7 amen and amen this brings back so many memroes

  • @KBluetrump7 and its educational

  • @KBluetrump7

Agreed. The quality of children's TV shows today is simply appalling.

  • i'm so glad i grew up with tv shows like this. the 90s were the best! Kids shows these days suck. Dora has nothing on these old pbs shows!!!

  • She was in the computer game too. Wow.

  • what the fuck is santa doing knowingly buying stolen goods?

  • @flailingcow Well, he's got to get all that shit from somewhere. Think he's paying for all that? Shiiiit.

  • wow what a great fuckin show. feel sorry for the kids today.

  • this was prob one of my fav shows of all time

  • Wasn't the chick on The fresh Prince

  • "he recently rode from maine to florida with his family!"

mark that under who gives a shit, and take off that hat before i break your glasses

  • @amd2q9 i know! i mean i do that every coupla years, IT'S NOT THAT SPECIAL.

  • @amd2q9 hahahahahahahaha

  • Back when TV was good and not so violent and evil...

  • This show and game was amazing
