It's just a normal bug, the shutter speed isn't fast enough to capture it properly, so in the one frame the bug moves from point a to point be and leaves a trail image - much like when you set your mouse pointer to leave a trail. You may now have a cookie.

Their aren't any known insects in our world with an odd number of wings over 2 sets. If you put a high speed camera next to a regular one you'll see that these "rods" only appear on the regular but the real objects (moths, birds, dragonflys, etc)appear on the highspeed camera normally.

I caught a REAL FLYING ROD! (I am NOT KIDDING!)
I was throwing knives (One of my hobbies) one day,and the knife hit "Something" midway to it's target.I saw these sparks and some smoke coming out of "It".
Upon closer inspection...I could clearly make out that it looked just like one of these "RODS" things!
I had chopped it completely in half.I picked it up,and it's texture was like a "Lizards",and it did NOT have "Wings" per se',but one continuous "Wing" on each side of it's body.

seen them here in japan / wierd i will say that / cant vouch for this video in anyway / but having seen one within inches from our faces, i dont scoff at talk abou them / was insect in looks and actions ... not sure why science doesnt discuss them

there are cave drawings of rods...this is not new..just because a new species has not been discovered doesnt mean that it doesnt exist..after the last sunami, unidentified species came washing up on shores all over the world..in biblical times there was not a word for alien..so they just called em angels

This has been discredited for a while, it's just a distortion that occurs on many types of cameras that deform the image of a fast flying object because the frame rate is too slow to capture the image properly. If you put a high speed camera next to a regular one you'll see that these "rods" only appear on the regular but the real objects (moths, birds, dragonflys, etc)appear on the highspeed camera normally.

owlman you are an idiot trying to make up this fake story. The rod phenomenon happens when a bird, bug, or in some circumstances debris moves at a high speed across the camera. It creates a motion blur due to the way camera's capture film. (That is a pretty general explanation but i dont want to type the rest, just look it up)

NEWS ALERT!
I caught a REAL FLYING ROD! (I am NOT KIDDING!)
I was throwing knives (One of my hobbies) one day,and the knife hit "Something" midway to it's target.I saw these sparks and some smoke coming out of "It".
Upon closer inspection...I could clearly make out that it looked just like one of these "RODS" things!
I had chopped it completely in half.I picked it up,and it's texture was like a "Lizards",and it did NOT have "Wings" per se',but one continuous "Wing" on each side of it's body.

I can now say with absolute certainty that these are NOT living creatures! There were "Wires" inside of this "THING"! (Hence the sparks and smoke).
I saw these strange letters written on one of the small "Computer chip" like things inside of it,but I couldn't make them out because half of the text was missing.After finding the other half of this "Thing",and putting them together.I could barely make out the words...
