Traveling throughout Nevada was and 'is' an adventure. I worked as a musician, entertaining the unwashed masses in Las Vegas, Reno and all those isolated towns across the desert. I lived there for 8 years, but it felt more like 20. I had a hell of a time and loved every second of it. I sometimes long for the quiet desolation of it's vast deserts and mountains. That chapter of my life is now closed, but what an incredible ride it was...

You asked about unusual things I saw near Rachel, Nevada. I observed objects in the night sky that moved with the speed of decending meteors, but changed directions in a manner unlike any conventional aircraft I know of. Also saw a very unusual silver craft, shoot straight up silently, from a isolated fog bank, on the ground, vanishing within seconds. It was about 5:30am, just before sunrise.

Rachel looks a wonderful place to visit, oh wait, no it doesn't, it looks horrific.

@CreditDue52 I think that town is absolutly an amazing place to visit, a town in the middle of nothing, in the middle of the big desert of nevada, Las Vegas is near, and the most protected area in the world more near...

I want to visit it, i dont think that place is good for life, but for visit i think its an interesting place to see, why not?

If the government would be honest for a change and explain to all of the ufo fanactics that there are no "aliens" in Groom Lake...and give even basic information about what they are working on apart from just that a "base exists there"...then people would leave them alone.

@EvilGamer100 Such as? I haven't seen one "alien" thing come out of Area 51, since it's existence in the 50's. I see B-1 Bombers, SR-71 Blackbirds, F-117, B2 Bombers...and the F22. What is "alien" about any of those? The engines are common use...the instrumentation and technology comes from centuries of research on previous aircraft, which began with the Wright brothers.

They're guarding it for the same reason our military doesn't broadcast what they plan to do; national security.

@jmr1068204 i totally agree i do not think there are any aliens at area 51 i think they are doing what they have always been doing making and testing experimental military aircraft and weapons thats why it is more secure then other bases. and it could be a possible place to store our nukes what better place to do then a place they say dont exist.

Ahhhh...the extratestlcle hwy. Been up and down that desolate road a thousand times. Seen some highly 'unusual' things coming up over the mountains between groom lake and Rachel late at night. I traveled as a musician, based in reno and quite a few of my road trips took me down to Mesquite Nv. I now reside on the island of Kauai and sometimes long for the sweet scent of the high desert mesquite and sage, blowing into my old van, in those quiet moments just before dawn.
