Jaedong is constently passing his units and building in review, and constently changing screen.
Although he doesn't "do anything" while doing so, I wouldn't call that spam, as it allows him to stay in his game at every moment, and to play consistently on many places at the same time.
I've never seen Jaedong just go 123123123123123 to increase his apm as Nada does sometimes.
If spamming is clicking randomely at your scv, yeah, nobody does that in mid/late game.
However, everybody pass their troop/production building in review all the time, without actually "doing" anything. That's how you keep your game 'in hands'.
Nada in his old time used to really spam. I remember Gogo making fun of him by splashing his keyboard in a BattleNet Attack.
i won't really call that spam. Progamers need to keep their hands swift and accurate, so they need constantly clicking (not spamming) units and switching screens to keep themself in their best; otherwise if they just sit their doing some 50 apm, they will not be able to react in battles or in some unexpected cases.
agreed, i found if i started "spamming" at the beginnning, its like prepping me, preparing me to the later game where more apm is required. also makes me pay attention more, sorta like getting that momentum started.
normally, people don't press that much.. you don't need it. i think he doing 'sd' over and over again to make drones in the begining. and controlling his overloads(if he is zerg)
oi oi XD, i have some though of what you said and its kind of well you know about the fast moving fingers, well if thats what you wanted to say?? or am i wrong XP
@gillon123 Yes, maybe in the early game, that goes without saying. But when you look an fpvod from flash in the midgame you see that he hardly does any useless commands. In the other hand when you look an fpvod of nada you see a lot of spamming, also in the midgame.
@HTSGOSU sAviOr reached a peak level of ZvT and maintained a 90% winrate on maps where other zergs won around 25%. He reached a level that will likely never be reached again.

And that's why I don't play RTS- I couldn't move my fingers so fast.. Good old TBS it's only about the strategy..
ovjv 1 year ago
@ovjv Na. You prefer TBS because it's easier. It isn't your fingers you need fast in RTS, it's your mind.

spamming or no (which im sure he is doing at least some of), thats fast as all hell.

Nada is well know for his mass spamming.
Don't remember which programmer was making fun of him in BnetAttack by imitating him splashing his keyboard.
When you look at replays, he is at 500+ the first minutes, and then he drops at 350, like other very fast programmers.
BiffTheUnderstudy 3 years ago
I think that was Gorush. And actually most progamers don't have 400 for the whole game like Nada, only a few like Jaedong I think.
jjay75 3 years ago
Yep it's true.
Actually, Nada is almost never at 400+, but rather in high 300.
The point with Jaedong is that he is one of the few who get 400+ without spamming especially faster at the beginning.
BiffTheUnderstudy 3 years ago
Noone can have more than 250 entirely efficient APM. Jaedong spams a ton, the same as Nada.

Yes and no.
