For me its not about Republican or Democrat its about the needless wasting of taxpayer money. If this is standard practice then it needs to end. I live on a very tight shoestring budget just barley keeping me and mine off the streets buti pay my taxes and not so inconsiderate dumb asses can piss it away. We as a State and a Nation are broke its about time our represenitives starting taking the responsibility to fix it. This rediculas spending is not just out of control but needs to stop.
Good I am glad to see they are off the clock while attending this fundraiser, it does not interfer with their daily job activities and they they did in fact not return to office under the influence of alcohol. I am also glad to see that this in no way shape or form reflects any of their decision making they make while doing thier appointed jobs. I love it when it people dont waste our tax money, i feel so much better.
Im very happy, thank you. Im especially happy that my party controls the country and all but the do-nothing Senate in the state. I just dont see anything funny about lying and dishonesty.
Hes lying Breathren. Session was over when Sen. Clark showed up. Again, are you going to be there next week for the Republicans fundraiser? Same time, same place. Lunch time Fundraisers are held there all the time fro both parties.
Her proper title is former State Representative. I would never have any kind of beverage with someone as dishonest as you. I see why you dont allow any dissenting voice on your blog.
The country is in the Bush recession because Hansen Clark held a fundraiser? Pathetic. You guys are fitting into your role as the minority party quite nicely, and with ridiculous crap like this, that wont change. There are 4 fundraisers there this week, and both parties use it. In fact, Rep. Tory Rocca is hosting a fundraiser there on May 5, so can I expect to see you there at 11:30 a.m. with your little camera? By the way, Farrah is not a state Rep., she works for GCSI.
And Representative Farrah used to be a Representative. Her proper title remains "Representative." I wouldn't call her "Barb" any more than I'd call the Lieutenant Governor "John" or the Ambassador "Jim."
You know what we need? You and I need to share a cold adult beverage sometime. Well, YOU can have an adult beverage... I'm sober 29 years now and want to keep it that way. I'll have a Pepsi.
I am assuming your against this? All i see is a bunch of people walking to a fundraiser when the state is broke. I know this state has made more than its fair share of mistakes but a fundraiser, the State needs the money how is this a bad thing? Free booze, like most casinos give to make people feel a little more comfortable and free with their money.
The fundraiser doesn't benefit the state, Breathren... it was for Senator Clarke's political campaigns and was held in the middle of a session day while the Senator and his pals were supposed to be on the clock.
All of this a day after they learned the state faces a $1.32 billion budget deficit with only 5 months worth of cash to make the cuts.
Instead of focusing on the jobs they were elected to do, they left their desks in the middle of the word day to go drinking.
Ahh I see the problem and that is some bullshit. I undertand its good for the drunks to get paid while drinking free but its bullshit for the rest of us. If there has to be free booze for them to show maybe they should look into AA or something. Their job is to represent us and if they cant do that without more incentive then they need to just go away from office. Peace and Liberty for all.
Im afraid you dont see the problem. No one is doing anything for free. Its a fundraiser. They pay money to support the person holding the fundraiser. Its quite common and legal in politics. In return, the people paying get lunch, a beer with lunch, a word with the lawmaker and knowledge they are supporting the lawmaker. Most people eat lunch from around 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thats what happened here.
