thank U 4 sharing this u r awesome ferret friends,i had 4 that passed away 2 i sat w/4 mths as thay slowly left & 2 i had 2 put down asap due 2 suffering.so it is wonderful 2 see ferrets getting the very best care..& happy 2 know the name of the person who builds the chairs on the net .(i still feel mine around me from time 2 time as i had 2 put down were just recently oscar aka frosty in jan then nxt mth.felix aka feeely were rescues.god bless u/all u love+ ur ferret who is healthy in heaven .

that is one of the sweetest things iv seen, most people would have put him down at the vet telling them he had intervertebral disc disease, you lot are wonderful owners, i tip my hat off to you :)

An animals life is based souly on the kind of life that the stewards, or caregivers or owners give to the animal. It looks like this ferret was very loved. The animals feelings of happiness, joy and safety are gauged and go out into the universe and also stay with the owners. What a wonderful service you have done with this ferret. Ive lost many ferrets. And I know the pain. So sorry. You made his life better though just being you.

im sorry to read he passed away, me and my significant other have three furries of our own. all under a year old. they are oh so precious. i am happy to see how strong willed your little man was. now people can be shown that sometimes there are other options to keep disabled animals happy and living life.

@fuhqtoo It was designed for him specifically. We measured him and had it made by a wonderful gentleman who had created the design for his own ferret. He was nearly 8 in this video- he passed away in 2006.

@SuperjesusLOL It actually wasn't bad at all- mainly because once we got past the diagnostics, there really wasn't much we could do for him beyond the chair. The chair was very affordable.

Does the paralysation have any other effects? Is he still 'potty trained' and how about the anal clans? I remember the cat of a good friend of mine. That when she was paralyzed the poor thing had no control over the 'potty trained' part.

Is paralyzing a common problem with ferrets?

not really, but when they make it to old age (he was 7+) it can be caused by a number of different things. He had multiple health issues but still had a quality of life so we got him the chair.

Many people may say thatan animal in that situation should be put to sleep to be more kind...but why? I ask. You can see the ferret is very happy and perfectly healthy. I think its a fantastic idea, after all, if we damage our spines we dont get 'put down' so why should an animal when it can still lead a high quality of life.
