  • why are you using a different audio track? it's desynced

  • 3.08-3.12 - Bill Hicks

  • That Pacman joke is probably my most favourite joke he's said.

  • Haha...May contain nuts...quality.

  • Who here thinks that Marucus gets a slight American accent at points? Or is it me? Do I need medication?

  • @jaygirl942 u need medication ,lol

  • always the same jokes...

  • Most of this is on Planet Corderoy.

    Still funny though

  • So who was first with the "walking at you from funny angles" thing, him or Lee Mack?

  • @QueenDeaconite marcus was the first to do the sueing culture joke @:-)

  • @QueenDeaconite i think it was him, but i saw lee mack do it before i saw marcus do it, but that could just be me and when i saw the joke

  • the lip-sync is horrible!

  • LOL this is the same skit he pulled at LIVE AT THE APOLLO.

  • @Bobeo - the apollo is a collection of comedians' best material for a show on bbc, comedy at its worst

  • Bill Hicks - Positive Drug Story 1:20

  • Are you sure? I'm pretty up to scratch on my hicks and a pong impression doesn't ring any bells... :s

  • well youtube-bill hicks positive drug story. 1:20

  • "I don't mean to sound, cold cruel or vicious"

Is in Bill Hicks - Positive Drug Story.

  • Anyone who has a problem with repeated routines should check out Ross Noble. He improvises entire sets, and often carries on for a lot longer than he was scheduled to. Search YouTube for the Ross Noble Fizzy Logic playlist and you'll get a playlist of the whole show. I highly recommend it to any fans of improvisational comedy (or comedy of any kind, really).

I have no problem with rehearsed routines; they're inevitable. If you're touring up and down a country, you'll want to know your act.

  • I gotta agree!

    Ross Noble is GOD!

  • the god of meat flaps( hinged)

  • 3:10 Obvious copy of Bill Hicks

  • Who?

  • Who what?

  • Where when

  • Are you actually asking something or are you just retarded?

  • Go find a sheep

  • 0:59 his balls are showing in his corduroy!!!!!!!

  • A lot of comedians use the same act over and over again, they play the same show to so many different crowds. So it is normal that there would be identical bits seem several times from several different points for several different crowds.

Not being mean or pointing anyone out but I see this all the time for comedians of all types.

  • People have just realized this because the internet exists. Every appearance appears on youtube and people start realizing

I dont fault any of the comedians either. The only one I know of that makes substantial differences to their shows is Dara O'Briain, cuz he gets the audience to speak up and goes off those tangents. But still, the basic jokes and acts are there.

  • I'm glad someone out there agrees with that. It would be impossible for a single comedian to preform for eight different crowds over maybe a month and have a completely different act each time. But the slight changes from each one is a nice difference too.

  • True. I don't see why these idiots can't understand the basic mechanism of joke construction. Why not go to a KISS show and complain when they play Detroit Rock City? "I'VE HEARD THIS SONG BEFORE, POSERS." Morons.

Listen to Jimmy Pardo on the Comedy Death Ray CD. He tells ONE joke in 10 minutes, the rest of the time is spent attacking random audience members, and it's amazing. He's fresh and hilarious without any preparation.

  • hahh that never occurred to me before...i never fault comedian but the band thing is so damn true

  • like an edited version of the live at the apollo sketch

  • the reason why his stuff is the same is cause it was a warm-up for his DVD

  • Pacman joke was awesome!

  • he says the same thing as usual

  • why use a different material, on a different crowd when the same stuff will work

  • agreed. i've seen him three times and by the third time i could practically recite his material.

  • he also wears the same thing as usual

  • he needs it for his material

  • Pretty much identical to the Live at the Apollo sketch he did, but still great.

  • Where was this filmed??

  • i can hardly sentence a construct

    lol

  • this is great, but its exactly the same as his performance at the apollo.

  • Pretty much identical to his Live At The Apollo, just shortened. Disappionting

  • Children in a darkened room munching pills and moving round to repetative music CLASS....

  • The game Pac Man..

  • yeahh. but i thought he was talking about someone actually doing that. ah fuck it. i'm clearly an idiot :)

  • he's making a reference to taking ecstasy in a club listening to techno. it can be rather like pac man.

  • And you sit in a dark room typeing on Youtube, silly comments....

  • wow. when i heard it, i thought he copied it off from the internet, as i had read this thousands of times... well, according to him, he wrote that!

    marcusbrigstocke.(com)/pacman.asp

  • Get hit by an oncoming tree.

  • LOL! That made me laugh so hard!

  • I hope Paramount DON'T remove this. This is classic!

  • but the cordroy is part of his jokes and makes him looks middle class which is where much of his jokes come from

  • Marcus Brigstocke is AWESOME =]

  • i also think so

  • well he does repeat alot of his jokes often the same way

  • Yeah, what gives him the right to say something that has proved to make people laugh. The bastard!

  • Lololol

  • Possibly the best stand up in the world today.

Also on the debate about using the same jokes on several shows. That's because they happened in the same year as part of the same tour!! Who cares how many times he says it? It's still funny

  • yeah i cant wait for his next act want to think wht he comes up next

  • Marcus needs a bigger stage, He nearly walked of this one.

  • lol. he deserves to rule the world. he thinks so logically

  • I keep getting the accent switch aswell.

  • is it jus me, or does his accent keep fluctuating between english american and austrailian??

  • its the same stuff because they both happened around the same time.. its not like comedians have tons of jokes all the time

  • Marcus Brigstocke Is really funny but its the same material as he did at apollo

  • Yeah, that's kind of a pity. At some point you realize that most comedians, even the big ones are really just telling the same two hours of material over and over again.

  • What's wrong with that? When comedians do a tour they do mostly the same jokes every night...what do you expect - for them to come up with a new set of jokes every day?!

  • yay

  • that was the same intro as when he was at the apollo

  • ive seen him live many times as well, great comic.

  • I bet you 700 pounds that I will smash my car up..

    just great!

  • seen him live twice - very very funny

  • He did this exact act on jack dee live at the appollo

  • Yup he had the same act for quite a while.

  • So did Bill hicks but it was still good.

  • Yeah, but most comedians do, I suspect most gigs on the same tour are basically identical.

  • lol of course they are... think about it thats about 15 shows in one tour for an average tour length... some do more. if they were to do new material for every night of the tour it would be paractically impossible.

  • Very true, I meant that I guess there might be newer jokes added each gig on the same tour, but thats if something crazy nd funy happens or if they do think of something funny, which they must do while on tour, but most shows on a tor are identical so dont beat the guy up too bad anyone.

  • Its because they only have a very restricted time limit at shows like this, so it is dangerous to adlib here as you can lose track of time. So usually comedians will develop a token 10 minute rouitne which they can easily control the length of without disrupting the story.

  • Yeah thats a good way to do a tour or even if your just doing a couple of seperate booked gigs, but while on tour they are surrounded by all these jokes and the atmosphere so new ones must be added each night just like a few, not too many, and most tours are like rock gigs, last hours so a few mins wont hurt.

  • Do we moan when our favourite bands play their hits? No

Some comedians hone their act often performing jokes that work well.

    Marcus is still funny

  • exactly and considering it takes years 2 perfect an hour of material coming up with new stuff every time you perform is impractical

  • yeah but, he should at least change his clothes. lol

  • @Sparrow959 Yeah, but music and comedy are two different things. So your analogy doesn't quite work.
