if it hadn't been for leathers i might not be able to ride right now...:) i try to wear them every time i ride for more than 10minutes otherwise i wear a breathable jacket with armors which is quite nice for short trips to the shop for example:) btw my accident happened in town on a green light!!! and thank god i had been wearing my full leather suit that day. But somehow even in the summer i don't tend to heat up to an unbearable rate in leathers:D And yeah, speaking english is hard :DDD

What about scooters. I think scooters still need protective wear but In all your videos , I see everyone just chillin. As long as they have a helmet they wear what ever they want. Scooters near me go at 40+ mph, im in the us. I think that at those speeds protection is needed. What do you think? Is it awkward, people think you look weird so you shouldn't do it, even though it can save your life?

I ride in Australia, in summer, in full leathers. I wouldn't do it in that kind of heat without my camelpak, you basically just keep sucking down what you're sweating out, and making sure you replace the electrolytes when you stop.

To help with the dehydration/heat exhaustion, you should get one of those water backpacks. I forget what they are called, but they aren't big and too noticable. And it's a great way to keep yourself going on a hot day!

@13mordeth You should get some proper riding jeans. I've got some Alpinestar pants that are really good for around town. Theyre only denim but partly reinforced (double layer, heavy stitching etc) and have knee/shin armour, and they look cool, can hardly tell they're not normal. They also have a mesh kind of material in the crotch so no sweaty balls for me !! Other brands like Draggin have Kevlar reinforcing.

No M13 those flowers do not make your car smell good. I bought them, I know. They die really fast and make your car smell like something died in it. I was told by my Taiwanese friends do not use them in the car because you need to throw them away very quickly.

You always (correctly) tell newbies not to buy a super sport as their first bike... I was a bit shocked to hear you suggesting people should dress to stay cool rather than safe. I see what you're saying but I think it's smarter to stay safe. You just need to make sure you're keeping your fluid levels up. If you get too hot in traffic, stop for a drink and cool down. If you're not in traffic you will be going at speed and will be cool anyway.

I know you don't fall off in ten minutes, you fall off in a second; but if you're too hot you can't concentrate. It's not just dehydration, but when you're really hot your body is working so hard to try and keep cool it reduces "computing power" to the brain; more blood for cooling = less for thinking.

On a hot day, if you have more armour you'll probably need it more than if you were staying cooler, and thus thinking more clearly.

Just sayin'.
