My church use to be in UPC and they are now in WPF! WPF has keep standards and things that are right and are found in the Bible that UPC hasnt! Thats all!! Just look at what UPC is saying and line it up with the Bible! Does it line up?? You have to say that about WPF also does it line up to the Bible??
I was raised in the UPC under Larson in San Diego and it was the best years in my life....I agree with Becky because I still consider myself pentecostal even though I havent gone to church for years, but I still have my faith and love for God. I know Im not the only one because most of our youth group of over 100 have fallen away as I have including my entire family, but I know they still love the Lord and are good honest people.

Good grief...you'd think that the UPC was "THE" church, the way some people think. The UPC is just an organization...and that's ALL it is. The people who left had their reasons, and Resolution Four was not the sole reason--it was simply the cherry on top. They're not hurting you, they ARE entitled to make fellowship arrangements with others who share their views, I think they have bent over backwards to not found a fellowship based on bashing others. Why don't you leave the judgment to God?

Those who this song are speaking of did not leave over oneness or baptism in Jesus name. They still continue in these doctrines. Those that left the UPC at the time of the writing of this song left because they felt the organization was going in a liberal direction.

The exodus was over Resolution 4 at the last General Conference. Resolution 4 allowed UPC Churches to advertise and possibly broadcast their services etc on TV. Many had a problem with that and felt the issue was worthy of their exodus. A new organization was spawned called the World Wide Pentecostal Fellowship (worldwidepf (dot) com)

As I am neither UPC nor WWPF I can't speak for any of them in any official capacity but I feel that it is safe to assume that they are continuing in the standard dispensationalist or futurist endtime view.
If you look at the WPF bylaws you'll find that it is a fellowship that embraces all Apostolic Organzations but calls for a higher standard of holiness...something much needed. It's a wonderful fellowship and many ministers who join keep their affiliation with the their own organization (including UPCI). I've attended several services with the WPF and am amazed at the move of God and greater stand for God. "When the enemy comes in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard."
Very true, no one makes a big deal over people going liberal, but the WPF takes everyone else's flack. Guess it prooves how much higher liberalisim is esteemed over conservatisim.
It's realy fulfillment of endtime prophecy. Scripture tells us that there would be a great falling away and that the "very elect would be deceived" Not only now are "apostolic" churches questioning standards but are letting down on the necessity of baptism in Jesus Name and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. However, i know God is faithful and will always have a remnant....i just pray that i will be one of the few that remain faithful to Him!

When I was a kid, I used to think it meant that many people would backslide (in the conventional sense), but then realized it most likely means what you allude to above: that the church would move the landmarks; leave behind holiness; not stress the Acts 2:38 message; etc. It's prevalent amongst so many churches which were at one time very powerful. So very sad.
This seems to be the truth in most things, be it church, politics, or even high school "coolness." Conservatism is viewed as prude behavior and when confronted by those that hold to a higher standard of holiness many people lash out because of their own intimidation.
