Dave's a jerk, pure and simple. You can't behave the way he does and be truly successful. He is his brand and no one worthy respects him. His business would be 10 times what it is if he learned some manners, used them, kept his mouth shut and stopped messing with the the people on the show. In the end, that is the mark of a true businessman...SUCCESS. He could be Ted Turner and instead he's Dave Hester. Epic fail.

He's smart enough to know how to play his character....and that is why he is worth every penny he is asking for. At the end of it, he CHOSE to be the character he is playing and that speaks to a LOT to his lack of character. If you can't trust or do not respect someone in business, you don't enter into it with them. He's not looking past the show. No one is going to buy a book from him, give him his own show or pay to hear him speak. His brand is trash, pure and simple.

I'm sure this TV show is a huge pain in the ass for all of the castmembers, so for Dave to demand more money is not unreasonable. I don't blame him at all. I will be sad to see him go though if they cut him. The show will probably fall apart. I'm with the others, I dislike Nabila or the high-spender greasy-looking guy they tried to feature a few times. I haven't seen all of the current episodes, but I have seen Nabila, and she was annoying. So she got a PH unit. Who cares??!!!!

I think the question of whether or not he is being greedy depends largely on how much he's asking for. My assumption would be Jerrod, Brandi, Barry, Darrell and probably Dave until now all make about the same. How much more is Dave's role as the villain worth then the rest of th cast? Double? Triple?At some point there does come an amount that is to much.

@y2kh8r if he didn't want to be shown on TV they'd do what they do to other people from time to time, they'd blur him out.A large area like Southern California has a lot of auctions everyday, American Auctioneers(Dan Dotsons company) is doing 45 in the next week alone. Dave can't be at all of them, nor does even he have the money to take every single unit.

I think A&E has been auditioning new characters for a while now, Not just nabisco or whatever her name is but also the $29000 nintendo guy and maybe a couple of others I can't really recall right now. That was just the network gearing up for contract negotions with the existing cast.
