Cool. For it's size it's agile. Low level is a major gas. No auto rotation to save your ass though. I've done it but only in Jetrangers and A-Stars B2 usually over winding rivers

@judgegixxer . Autorotation isn't really a consideration when you have two engines. I flew exactly these Puma types for 4 years in military operations in Northern Namibia and Southern Angola. The terrain was similar and flat, so it was necessary to fly VERY low at times to minimise the opportunities for the enemy to get a clear shot at us. At 10 feet half buried in thorn tree tops the sound of approaching helicopters was reduced which gave less time for SAM gyros to stabilise after swithching on

I worked for five years on Puma HC1 helicopters in the RAF on 33 Squadron. I must admit that some of our pilots were a little dotty but not on a level with most French helicopter pilots. Met a few French pilots and they had that 'slightly crazy twitchy eye' look that groundcrew avoid. Me ... I would not fly with these guys. It would hurt when you hit the ground. Bear in mind that this video is only of the successful flights ...

Very simple indeed, just like in an aircraft. You gain enough speed, pull the stick. To, the chopper is climbing at a high rate. Then, when it's speed is low, you push the stick and begin to dive. This way you can have 0G. A simple (well, not that simple) belle manoeuver.
