@homeros8000 well, of course many Muslims make and listen to music but their prophet forbade it. by "music" is meant melodical instruments such as piano, guitar, flute, etc...what is allowed by classical Islam is rhythm (drums) and singing/chanting...which is where there is something called Nasheed (=religious songs) in Islam, apart from Quranic recitation which is also sometimes performe in a chanting style. nasheed style is also what yusuf islam performs
