  • This one of my favorites too, and I love Michael Card!

  • This is sung in the Lutheran Church in America and it is one of my very favorite Hymns. I Like the version also that Sissel Kyrkjebo a Norwegian singer sings. I know that God is my refuge and strength and without His Love I am nothing. I play this song everynight and hum it all day. You can find Sissel's version on You Tube also. God Bless us all.

  • It was an act of defiance that changed the course of a nation. Patrick lit a fire in pagan 5th century Ireland, ushering Christianity into the country. Ireland was a beautiful island shrouded in terrible darkness. Warlords and druids ruled the land where human sacrifice and slavery was commonplace. Patrick, a teenager in Roman Britain, was abducted by Irish pirates & brought to Ireland as a slave. He defied the High King of Tara's edict and lit a candle for Passover/Easter and wrote Be Thou My V

  • @reesie2222 Actually, Patrick only created the tune as a simple folk song. There is no evidence that Patrick wrote the lyrics to Be Thou My Vision. There is some evidence that the original lyrics were from a poem called “Rob tu mo bhoile, a Comdi cride", authorship attributed to Dallan Forgaill. Although this is still unsure. Later, in 1905, the poem was translated from Gaelic into English by Mary E. Byrne, and then in 1912 Eleanor Hull converted the lyrics to “Be Thou My Vision”.

  • I haven't heard this song since I was little. Only now do I realize that God truly loves me more than I can ever understand. I give him my life now. Thank you, my one and only Savior.

  • beautiful version...

    thank you

  • God Bless Michael. One wonderful Hymn, it may be ancient, but keep singing it.

I love it. An Irish lass. Ave Maria.

  • Beautiful song, voice and video! God bless!

  • One of the best hymns in the church. Glad Michael did a remake. Truly gets the Irish in you going. Wonder if Michael still has his ministry in Ireland.

  • Like JennyBeth, this song was also performed at our wedding. I love it, and I love Michael Card's rendition of it.

  • This was played at my wedding as a testimony to our family.

  • "My treasure Thou art..."

  • wow... i just heard this song for the first time yesterday at a little guys bible study of sorts. i fell in love with it

  • Good song.

  • Thank you, thank you to Michael Card for a hymn, a real hymn. How I miss them. It felt like the church discarded an old friend when they removed the hymnal. And I don't understand why it had to go.

  • Not my good confessional Lutheran church where hymns are still beautifully sung and the Word of God is spoken and/or sung throughout the entire church service.

  • wonderful version..thanx for posting!!

  • My favorite hymn. This may sound strange but I always walk away when I hear this song feeling just awful. God has done so much and I remain a wretched sinner. Thankfully He is merciful.
