Carle, while not exactly the best defensemen in today's NHL, shows alot of promise for tomorrow's NHL. I prefer him over Erhoff simply because he kept the puck in at the blueline more than Erhoff did and certainly gets his shot on goal more than Erhoff does (who misses by 20 feet every time).
