Alright, either the poster put this together (kudos)or Singer & Co. actually presented this at Comic Con. I think this is what was presented cause only Singer would have that much extra footage of Returns that wasnt in the movie. Even if you watch the deleted scenes in the 2 Disk Special Edition this Superman footage here isnt there. It may be spliced with other movies, but this is all official. I for one am all for him going all "Wrath Of Khan" on the sequel and am not for this reboot at all

Batman is for the darkness of the world. There is a documentary on Superman which shows that in the late 90s-early 2000s that they were making attempts to make a movie that WAS darker with a black costume and some concepts that took away from the original story. But for many it didnt work...and if you check past articles before RETURNS, there was a struggle to find the right actor and director to do it.

You need to pick the DVD up..it has more info about Superman than you know right now.

Many people now grew up on Christopher Reeve's movies since they were the most successful at the time of a comic book hero. Comic books, tv shows and cartoons reflected the movie as well for 30 years. Smallville is just the movie sprawled over a longer period of time. The idea was good and critics loved the movie...but it really lacked the action. Reeve's flying sequences are still better than the computer generated ones in RETURNS...and Luthor escaping was awful..Superman should have hit em!

and you have to remember...comic book characters in the 60s and 70s were treated campy with the Batman TV show with Adam West. There was even a Superman musical which was made into a ABC TV movie...now that movie was GAY!

Chris Reeve gave the movie heart and made the character down to earth...hard to do since Superman is an alien. I consider the 70s Reeve movie the model of all of the comic films...bigger than life, but down to earth, and a good mix of action and humor.
