  • damn, i always cried this part.. it so sad, when andy died too young and then that song.. i just love it <3

  • I didn't cry till I saw Jerry Lawler. Then, Niagra falls...

  • Rip Andy Kaufman.

  • Jim Carry such a great actor

  • Did anyone ever notice there was a missing character on the Taxi cast and then realized it was Danny Devito?

  • First film to make me cry.

  • What made Andy's death really hard for a lot of people (I think) wasn't just the fact he was so young (he was 33) but the fact that he died of lung cancer when he was such a 'clean living' person - no smoking or drinking, hard-core vegetarian and very spiritual person, so there was no external 'thing' to point a finger at, it was simply a betrayal of his body to such a wonderful soul

  • this will be my tune to be played at my funeral, for sure!!!

  • My favourite movie and the best escene ever!! :'(

  • First time I cried at a film.

  • if you didnt cry watching this, you must have a black heart...

  • @menofthechemical96 but its a happy ending?! so why cry

  • 1:10 The real Lynne Marguiles.

  • @g1o2r3d4o5n6 I thought that was Carol Kane, who was his principle co-star on 'Taxi' and who'd been very good friends with him

  • this part make me cry :{

  • I love this part....always make me cry......

  • 0:13. .scary

  • Don't cry, be happy!

  • Andy Kaufman was no is a genius 'nough said

  • u unappreciative fucks

  • this scene rips at me, not only because it's so beautiful, but because Danny DeVito and Carol Kane both worked with the real Andy Kaufman and to have to relive this moment must have been absolute hell for them

  • @cazia9 Jeff Conaway, and Marilu Henner were in the final scene too :(

  • @bloodsling that's even more depressing now :(

  • andy was a genius its realy sucks becase he died so young :'(

  • umad?

    u not mad anymore brother.

    tolle

  • Man...that made me sad.

  • Manly tears have been shed.

  • I have to admit this made me very sad. Very beautiful scene. Why Carrey hasn't won an Oscar yet is mind blogging. He can do anything.

RIP to the real Andy Kaufman.

  • I love how Jim Carrey looks stoned on all scenes. His buggy eyes, so disturbing and funny.

  • I think the plinkett character from red letter media was based on tony clifton

  • I want my funeral be like this. People laughing, drinking, enjoying food made with my recipes ... just having a good time.

  • Did this really happen or just in the movie?

  • @BJCobbledick both parts did happen - Andy really did go to the Philippines for psychic surgery and he realized it was a hoax, and he died on may 16 1984 of cancer at the age of 35

  • @cazia9 I know that, but did the sing that song in hus funeral?

  • @cazia9 I know that, but did they sing that song at his funeral?

  • @BJCobbledick i honestly don't know, but it feels genuine, because Andy was a performer right to the end, so if they made it up for the film, it is a great piece of writing...but my gut is telling me that this is how it happened.

  • The song performed during his funeral really did happen, as documented in Bob Zmuda's book "Andy Kaufman Revealed!: Best Friend Tells All", which is a great book and offers a deep insight into Andy's life. I can highly reccommend it to anyone with an interest in Andy Kaufman. It's worth reading just for the chapters on "Mr. X", the real life Tony Clifton.

  • @BJCobbledick I'm not sure but I think its because he's always been pulling tricks on people with the Tony Clifton act and the woman wrestling and he laughed because someone tricked him for once. I'm probably wrong though.

  • @Worldofjon7 you're right, he was laughing because he realized this time, the joke was on him...he was basically on death's door and he realized this 'miracle cure' was nothing more than a cheap parlour trick

  • Why does Jim (Andy) laugh in the surgery??? i nver got that

  • @SMA2343 Because he saw that the 'surgery' was a con, sleight of hand using some fish parts or something, think it said in his biography and they'd all travelled and put their hopes in that charlatan. The irony seemed to appeal to his sense of humour. Guess it was like seeing through a magic trick, only this magic was supposed to be the miracle that would save him.

  • @crazyabe okay when i saw the move i thought that they were going to be the chicken head IN his body

  • Thumbs up if you swayed back and forth in rythym to the music.

  • Jim es mas que un comediante...es un SEÑOR ACTOR.

  • I am convinced that all of the actors were very emotionally moved while doing this scene. You can see it while they are singing along. There are some great actors here but this was something different. Part of it, of course, was because some of them actually knew Andy in real life, but even the ones who didn't know him seemed genuine.

  • @Billinois78 Indeed. For some of them it was practically attending Andy's funeral a second time.

  • R.I.P Andy...& R.I.P Jeff Conaway...Hoping they're having a good ol' time up in Heaven...

  • I cried so hard on this part

  • No Oscar or even nominated for such a beautiful performance by Jim Carrey? smh

  • I bet when they were filming this all those people who were in this movie who worked with him on Taxi like Carol Kane and Danny Devito really were crying because they probably thought about how much they missed him, even after all those years. RIP Andy Kaufman.

  • The guy on 2:27 looks like he is going to shit.

  • If you look at some of the entertainers today their style is very similar with the alter-ego. Here's just a few examples from the UK, Sacha Baron Cohen with his character's Ali G, Borat and Bruno. Rowan Atkinson with Mr Bean, Steve Coogan with Alan Partridge and Al Murray with the Pub Landlord. Feel free to comment and add your own. Andy would be happy knowing his legacy lives on, RIP Andy you are proof that geniuses are taken from us too soon too often.

  • I wish i could have an impact on the world like Andy kaufman or even jim carrey do/did before i die.

  • where is the scene where he fakes the womans death?somebody upload it so i can favorite it!

  • when i die, i want to be lay in the coffin facing down, so that the people who didnt like me during my life can kiss my dead ass

  • category: funny

    wtf?

  • In my funeral, everybody will be happy that Im gone anyway ahaha!

  • This is so depressing

  • brilliance right 2 the end...the funny thing is...BOTH bob zmuda & "tony clifton" (actually bobby z,but we'l ALL just keep that lil factoid 2 ourselves 4 now...so, SHHHHH) have SUPER-LEGIT HEAT w/ lawler 2 this day...maybe the andy's lil brother version of "tony clifton",as well...i only know they REALLY do have it w/ "the king"...

  • brilliance right 2 the end...the funny thing is...BOTH bob zmuda & "tony clifton" (actually bobby z,but we'l ALL just keep that lil factoid 2 ourselves 4 now...so, SHHHHH) have SUPER-LEGIT HEAT w/ lawler 2 this day...

  • I see Andy Kaufman in every pose of Jim Carrey.... Absolutely beautiful acting and film... should have got an Oscar for it

  • Wonderfully impressive movie. Jim Carrey was brilliant as Andy Kaufman. When it comes to put Carrey's best films (in acting department) my vote authomatically goes to Man On The Moon and The Truman Show. He deserved the Oscar or at least being nominated for this award. Courtney Love was great too - very underrated as an actress.

  • when i die im gonna put the fun in funeral

  • If this scene didn't touch your heart, you better check, because you may not have one.

  • @Tigermoon1950 i cry every time that i see this scene u.u no matter how much times i see it I cry every time T_T but is a cute tears =')

i wanna funeral like this =D and make smille to my family and friends one last time

  • @Tigermoon1950 I guess 5 people didn't.

  • Don't worry bro, nobody is going to your funeral.

  • Andy Kaufman died too young :(

  • ive never seen this movie but i know now i must

  • @MrEugene1994 This scene makes us cry for 2 reasons

    1. Remembering Andy Kaufman.

    2. Reminding us that we are all lucky the world is so friendly.

  • when i die i want my funeral to be like this, movie should have gotten an oscar

  • @systemofadown945 I'm already designing mine. I want pictures and a video presentation too.

  • I'm glad that a director who made this amazing movie is from my birth country, thank you Miloš Forman, Jim Carrey, Andy Kufman and of course Tony Clifton!

  • I think Jim was perfect for the role of Andy, not because Jim Carrey is one of my favorite actors, because he did almost everything just like Andy did. In this scene where he is singing, everything is almost the same as the other video in the suggestions bar named "Friendly World." His voice even sounds like Andy's a little...

  • I seriously think this is Jim Carrey's best most underrated work. People always think otherwise, but I dare you to watch this and not see Andy Kaufman in every pore of Jim Carrey.

  • The world is not that friendly anymore, but we can make the most of it if we try.

  • Something ineffable about seeing someone who was never serious lying there dead.

  • His mother would join him in death just five years later .

  • Wats up With Andy Kaufman??

    Who is this man??

  • Many of the people there actually attended the real Andy Kaufman's funeral. So I just assume this is accurate. Despite what is Jewish tradition it makes sense that his casket would be open so they can see without doubt that he is actually dead and it's not some horrible prank.

  • thanks for your5 video.amunra.

  • awesome video.

  • Jim Carrey was the perfect for the role!

  • he was buried in a jewish cemetary...jews do not have open casket funerals

error on the part of the film makers

  • pause at :15...creeppy

  • 2:09 is that the actual Jerry Lawler? surprised that he's in an Andy Kaufman movie after the feud they had, maybe they became good friends?

  • @musicluvu the whole feud was staged, they've always been good friends.

  • @sinnvollproductions i dont know, have you seen the videos where they fight? the punches looked bad, im not saying wresteling is real because i know its not, but how they fought and the bruises he gave him seem real to me.

  • @musicluvu I've seen the videos and read about it in the Andy Kaufman biography "Lost in the Funhouse" by Bill Zehme. Of course it seemed real, that's because they were so good at faking it. Lawler himself admitted that it was staged.

  • @musicluvu dude the feud wasnt real it was all a huge prank they planed togather :D

  • oh god the waterworks, i can't sit through this without cracking

  • God i cry always to watch this scene one of the best scene ever and the expression Jim carrey made was so awesome... a great movie for lifetime...

  • My dad loved milos forman movies, this and larry flynt were his favorite, i can't watch this funeral scene without choking up and thinking of him.

  • I saw this and it made me cry . I want people to enjoy themselves when I die.

  • I saw this when I got up for work this week. I want people to party their ass off when I die.

  • best film in the world!

  • I loved Andy. He was truly one of a kind.

  • i like the "OK" part and he looks at the audience like hmmm?

  • i watched jim carey in this video simultanously with the real kaufman singing this. it was creepy.

  • Why did some people call this a comedy? It's a true drama!

  • Comment removed

  • you can say what you want about this movie, but this scene is perfect. i loved the whole movie in general anyhow :]

  • Wait...but isn't the ending supposed to question us as to whether he is dead or not? You can see that the manager is rather angry-looking at Tony's performance.

  • @TomokiMiyoshi Dude he's dead. See to this day people are still falling for his pranks. What a genius.

  • Jim Carrey has done such a great job <3 R.I.P Andy Kaufman :)

  • its better to end with laughter than tears, if i cark it tomarrow if hope my funeral can be like this.

  • the movie is "Man on the moon"

  • this movie always makes me cry

  • (鳥。)

  • can some1 plz summarize this movie for me i havent seen it and i want to know

  • @lob0timiz3r It's about the life of Andy Kaufman. An excentric comedian. Who thought of himself as a sing and song man. His carreer excisted mostly out of shocking people and the audience in a way to screw with their minds.

This movie was made by several people who knew Andy. Danni Devite, Bob Zmuda, George Shapiro. So this is a very accurate biography, and very underestimated. Jim Carrey plays Kaufman almost to perfection. And the movie itself sometimes messes with your head.

    Homaging Andy.

  • @lob0timiz3r It portrays the life of Andy Kaufman, practitioner of "anti-humor": he pulled pranks on his audience (most famously, performing in the guise of a "foreign man" doing purposely terrible impressions; becoming a "bad guy" pro wrestler in the South) and couldn't stand the time he spent on Taxi, believing sitcoms to be a cheap and unimaginative form of entertainment. Even his friends and family found it difficult at times to take him seriously.

It's pretty good. I'd recommend it.

  • What is there to cry about? I think it's fun.

  • i love this movie so much..

  • WTF?? courtney love???

  • Jim Carrey is a amazing actor

  • @esteban0ramone is the best actor better of ever

  • hell yeah

  • 2:09 THERE THE BLONDE WOMAN isnt the woman who apears in sabrina the teenage witch? aun ilza right?

  • yup

  • Haha Andy you are cool

  • Andy put thru what he wanted. Jim Carey understood Andy. That's why he was so good as him and this scene is proof. This is what I want my funeral to be like...

  • I think Jim Carey impersonated Andy like he was him. This to date is my fav movie!

  • I haven't even seen this movie yet and I started to tear up.

  • @ConnDevi88 Smooth, you just watched the ending

  • Everyone who admires Andy knows how the movie ends before watching so I didn't spoil anything. I have every intention of buying the film and watching it in full. What's smooth is the fact someone posting the ending on youtube. Don't judge me & have a great day.

  • @ConnDevi88 Why so serious?

  • I'm not, i just don't see any reason for the condescending comment. Were cool

  • amazing!!! amazing!!! amazing!!! amazing!!! amazing!!! amazing!!!

    really really Beautiful!!!

    thanks for posting this!

    you make my day!

  • 1. What did they take out of him

    2. Why was he laughing

I must say I watched this movie last night and it just hit me hard and cold. Its so sad knowing this ``genius`` died so young, and I can see us doing something like that for jim carrey. I still have a sad feeling after watching it. I dont whether to cry, or to remember

  • they didn't actually take anything out of him. If you watch the movie carefully, the guys made it seem like they were removing tissue, but they actually had a sample that they snuck in to make him think they pulled out the cancer.

  • Well I KNOW they didn't take anything out of Jim Carrey, but I didn't know what they took out of Andy

  • same thing with Andy, these island doctors used the art of "placebos" to make them feel as if they took something out. It does often help, though.

  • Oh. And to think I thought they'd taken it out.

I mean it sure as hell wouldn't be painless so that goes to show my knowledge. Wow, I had no idea ANDYwas one of those guru-meditating people; just sayin

  • that's messed up :(

  • I almost never cry the second time i watch something, but ive seen this movie 3 times and i've cried each time! It's sooooo sad :'( RIP Andy

  • danny D, jim carrey, and courtney love juss showed emotion that touches you when you see this movie

  • I tell you, Courtney Love showed in this movie she's one heck of an actress.

  • @restlessr84

totally agreed, this movie was awesome, and this is def. how my funeral is gonna be, im gonna record a version of me doing this! =)

  • i wish my funeral will be like this =]

  • Was his funeral like that?

  • @RabbitHolocaust apparently it was. according to his friends.

  • yea

  • Just goes to show you that although Andy was ill he managed to die peacefully... by dieing laughing :)

  • I want to have people do that at my funeral..Don't be sad I'm gone..Be happy that I was in your lives

  • I agree.

  • couldnt have said it better myself

  • whos the dude at the end with the bag on cuz andy is still dead

  • I'm still crying when i see this film....And i'm 17 yeas old

  • Jim Carrey sei straordinario... mi hai fatto conoscere ed apprezzare un uomo di cui non avevo mai sentito parlare... THANK YOU!

  • what song is he singing?

  • freindly world

  • I remember crying at this part when I first saw this movie. i was like 10 or 11 when I saw it, and seeing Jim carrey like that killed me. he's always been my favorite actor.

Great film, though. Jim did amazing as Andy Kauffman/Tony Clifton.

  • how he died ??

  • Lung cancer

  • We need this full movie on Youtube!!! It's a classic! ^_^

  • OK,OK,OK!

  • God, I cry everytime I see this....EVERY TIME!

  • @SamUnfiltered2010 But like CosmicDestroyer99 says dont be sad, remember all the funny momments of Andy, like when he wrestle with a woman, when he sings Mighty Mouse or when he create Tony Clifton

  • @SamUnfiltered2010 my too

  • Can you believe that is Courtney Love - she was actually very good in this and she looked great!

  • @res57 Courtney Love is a wonderful, talented actress. Just look at her in The People Vs Larry Flynt.....She was and is great......

  • 3seaw4dr safe to say you have no funny bone.

  • I'm going to cry watching this.......gets me every single time.......No arguing in this video please...

  • Amen

  • Thank you....

  • @pittresident

You're a tool. Go type out your mum's basement.

  • This makes me cry every time I watch it. Film, or any art for that matter, never gets to me like this scene does. EVERY TIME. Just a beautiful movie, so overlooked.

  • @WHOCares363

    waaaaaaaaa.... you cry baby.

  • I so agree with you....I worked at a video store when this movie came out and I've must've seen it 16,000 times......EXCELLENT movie!! (Still getting goosebumps listening to him, even though I can't see the screen)

  • Wow, another youtube clip where an important part of a scene was left out. I'm so tired of the fucking people who don't know how to post clips right.

  • @olivemike81

What important scene are you speaking of? This is the clip of the funeral scene which is shown in full.

  • @olivemike81

Ignore my last post, cause what I really want to say to you is FUCK YOU THE HORSE YOU RODE ON YOU PIECE OF WORTHLESS SHIT. CHOKE ON A DICK AND DIE MOTHER FUCKER. HOPE YOU ROT IN HELL WITH YOUR DEAD GRANDPA.

  • I'm talking about where the scene pans and you see Zemuda, so you're left wondering, who is playing Clifton on stage? This wasn't a clip of the funeral scene. This was a clip of the funeral scene and then part of the last scene. If this dumbass had just ended his clip right after the funeral I wouldn't have said anything. But he didn't. And you can suck my fucking cock, oh wait, you probably already have one in your mouth. My bad asshole.

  • his last laugh was when he realized that the "healer" guy was a prankster just like him

  • @AsG1989

That last laugh in the movie didn't actually happen, hope you realize that. Andy was in the Philippines for several weeks undergoing this psychic surgery and left believing he was cured.

  • i was commenting on the movie
