hello? it looks COOL that's why it's neat! it is pretty useless though, i do have to agree. the only thing it MIGHT be good for, is if they can make the case that it keeps air in/out of homes better to cut down on power usage, and if they put solar panels so they are self-powered that'd be cool... but i forsee them malfunctionining a lot for some reason, i.e. not closing all the way, injuries, etc.

The door would have to open different speeds. For example if someone needed to run through the door to catch someone, this door would have to open really fast.

Also if this kind of door was to be used in a high traffic area, there would definitely be problems with mechanism. Say, for instance, some of the bars malfunction that would be a problem.
