  • wah maza agaya

  • No body else can sing this except K.Deep.He is just beyond limits.

  • kuj rukh......omg

    i can feel the pain......

  • amazing imagry simply superb

  • a wonderfull pure punjabi poetry.

  • ultimate creation,,,

    went deep ...!

  • This song is sung beauti On this day, 37 years ago, a shining star in Punjabi Poetry eclipsed, leaving a reach heritage of his poetry..He was compared to John Keats, but keat got fame after his death, whereas Shiv got it at the entrance of his career. Still, keat is famous than Shiv because we did not give due credence to Shiv..God give rest to this departed soul. He is dead but his songs are eternal and will exist till the world fully by K.Deep only...No other singer sang it...

  • who says keat is more famous .......shiv is the only famous......no one can compete with him

  • Shiv Batalvi has described the Love and affection and need of TREE TRANSPLANTATION but the Govt. failed to implement and to understand the values of the Trees

  • Every Poem of Shiv K V is great and

written by deep heart. I came to know this

poet on 14-3-2010, and i am surprised

to hear this kind of poem.

  • bahut vadhia gayiya G!

  • aapne har ek rishtey nu pyar te kadar karan wala, shiv-real gem

  • no one can write beyond this...... what a agony & pain in his lyrics...

  • Latter part of poem ... kujh rukh ral ke jadvi chuman tej vagan jad hawanvan saavi boli sab rukhan di ji karda likh jaavan mera vi dil kardaae rukhan di joone aanvan je tusaan mera geet hai sunnan main rukhan vich gaanvan rukh taan meri maan varge ne jeun rukhan diyan chaanvan
  • bahut hi vaadiee-a ,,,great great

    thanks

  • ''Kujh Rukh Menu Puth Lagde Ne, Kujh Rukh Lagde Maavan..''

This opening verse isn't just Shiv writing about how some 'trees' look like sons & mothers but in-fact the 'trees' are people, they are human beings who in life we see come & some sadly go. Some people remind of us of those who have parted from us.

Shiv wrote allot about pain and manifested it in many forms. A rukh was one of them...

  • dhanjal sahib i have started listening to it 3 days ago and i listened to it 30 times thanks it has become addiction

  • gretest job

  • beautifull song but its no shiv kumar sahib.

it is k deep ( posty from mai mohno)

  • Written and sung a half century ago, when there was no noise about envioronment, this song will become more and more relevent in future when we will think of loss of natural cover

on earth. A tribute to Shiv's foresight.

    tirath Singh

  • I feel blessed today to find this channel and its video.

Thanks SSdhanjal Bhaaji for this experience.

My good wishes from the deepest core of my heart for you and your family.

    K. Deep sings Shiv Kumar Batalvi's Poem in Shiv's style and does a very fine job.

The immortal words are comparing all human reltionships with a tree (Rukh), who is standing alone from years.

I love Shiv Kumar Batalvi Saab for his soulful words which help us all to live life better in our own ways.

  • shiv kumar hats off thnx man and k deep very nice

  • Good man dragingbull. Shabash dost, what a comment !

  • Thank you so much. After a crap week (perhaps life?), I really needed something like this.Bless You and and your friends.

  • One of the best depiction of life .

  • Shiv Kumar is My favourite ! Simply a Genious

  • we are greatful to u mr dhanjal to bring us in touch with the true fragrance of our soil back to us after years..it seems like just yesterday .

  • man day andar khub janda ay shiv

  • Nice Poetry My Punjabi My Language..... I am a proud Punjabi and Love Shiv Kumar Sahib.

  • well that would be a project well worth. Mr. Batalvi was a good friend and regular visitor to a friend's house...apparently once he got started reciting, you couldn't stop him. Also, remember hearing about GCM Ludhiana Golden Jubilee celebrations in 70s when he was to recite, students/audience booed so much at the idea of poetry that compere was forced to plead to hear him once, but once he started no one was willing to let him go!

  • I had a friend in Germany who used to study in same college as Mr. Batalvi, He used to say this man was in so much pain tht he dint even knew it was day or night. In his last days he started writing on walls as he used to get any poetry in his mind. BTW I am Batalvi aswell as I belong to Batala aswell ;)

  • Good to hear about first hand experiences - thanks for sharing.

  • I don't know whether he was a drunkard or not but I can tell you one thing that what matters is what this man gave us. A gift of pure bliss in his poetry. We should respect him for this and not think bad of him because of what others have to say about him.

  • i m from batala... lived near to his house

my dad use to drink with him.. and i never mean he is bad or anything ....

  • I really doubt that a human can write this level of poetry..... I can just bow my head..... people are doing Phd's on Shiv. Thanks for uploading this masterpeice

  • @yoursonu My father was his class fellow and told me that he was drinking all the time when he was living in Batala. By the way i am from near Gurdaspur and most of my family lives at Batala.

  • K.Deep singing?

  • A beautiful rare "Gem".....Is this posting is by Sukhi Dhanjal who directed a couple of punjabi films and who used to reside in andheri(w)?

  • Alas no - I'm only a humble Chemical Engineer living in London.

I am however curious about someone else having my name - please advise who this other person is, I'm interested to know (you can write to my youtube post box rather than clutter this posting which we should reserve to discuss Shiv Kumar Batalvi) - thanks.

  • i am a student of literature, living in lahore pakistan. i have never listened such pathos loaded poetry. there is no parallel of shiv in punjabi literature. thanx for uploading this piece of poetry

  • @ssdhanjal - Great Dhanjal Ji. Another Chemical Engineer who is fan of Shiv K Batalvi! and in the UK too. I am a ChemEngg too in Manchester. Are you from Thapar (just wondering)?

  • Thanks for uploading this unique song.

Never heard of this singer before... and this song of Batalvi is not sung by many

  • emotions run tooo high listening n seeing him talking.

    thanx for posting

  • Awesome song, awesome voice!!

    It simply touches your heart.

    God bless Shiv Kumar!

  • Hi Sukhi sahib,

Thanks a ton for all ur postings...specially live interview.....Is it possible to have full version of interview?

  • Unfortunately this is all I have - you can tell it is from a BBC programme in the 1970s. Quite an effort to get hold of it.

Only way is for someone to search through BBC archives to see what else is there - not a bad idea for a serious project - would be a service to all those who love punjabi poetry.

  • great job man..... 1000 times THANX
