violence has always been around. mobile phones with video camera's haven't thats why it seems there is more violence.

as for TV i Watched He-man, Thundercats etc all included violence, i also watched many many many 18 certificate films including Scum, texas chainsaw massacre, the wanderers and the warriors the last two excellent Gang movies.

i am over 30 and have never intentionally hurt anybody physically and i've never been arrested. my mum said violence is wrong so i listened to her

If you think video games cause excessive violence, you're ignorant. There's a responsibility as a parent to divulge into what's reality and what's virtual. Don't blame "violent video games" for causing children to act out, it's more their parents fault. Now, not every case is like this. There's always an exception to the rules, mental incapacities to differentiate real and virtual actions can cause risk if not monitored. However, I don't think you want debate. You just assume you know all.

i grew up playing violent video games and it didn't make me go to school and shoot anybody ......finger pointing will not fix it

What kind of relationship do they have with each other, with their kids, what they are taught, what are their moral standards? Then we go to the parents of the friends, and ask the same questions and analyze. Then we go to school (and work places should they hold even a part-time gig) and look at what the environment's like, and ask what kind of moral codes are upheld and how the student's morale is upheld.

i think its funny people are so quick to blame video games and music and movies, and are to proud to realise thatit all starts at home. if you kid cant tell the difference between a movie and real life then your raising them wrong.

and most of the kids i knew that were violent growing up came from a hard place and grew up very ruff.

you just need to talk to your children!!! most important thing is to tell them why they cant watch what their friends watch or play those games!!! I make sure everything my child watches is ok. I do not allows toys like swords or guns or anything harmful that can be used as a weapon.. We cant always blame it on other things we must as parents take the blame aswell as we allowed them to have it in our house!!

eplain WHY this behaviour is unacceptable. You cant cover them in cotton wool but you can give them a greater undrstanding just by talking and explaining things to them!! They are going to be exposed to this one way or another. All you can do is talk to them and ban it from your house.

There's SO many "what ifs" in this world, why not find one that ACTUALLY has use instead of attacking video games and media? Every Hollywood move now days has more and more violence in it and also every Xbox360 or Nintendo ect. games have violence in some games...to destroy the world nations attack their children development and their currency . Now days small group of powerful people have all the money they want they do have a power but it is going so far that they are after our soul. Personally I believe that our society has been increasingly desensitized over the past few decades and yes there is accountability on all sides. However I believe the solution is to keep time spent on any activity balanced and actually teach some sort of integrity, ethics and common courtesy to our children, teenagers and sadly our adults.

We all need more time spent with our children and less time with self destructive surroundings and by the bright example have a better world. For example a true Christians could have many sinful things around them but they would not be part of it and could never be participants of it. If you are outside of Christian faith your creator gave you morals and not your government

I blame lazy parents. Even if you are a good parent, odds are your kids friends have bad parents. In most cases kids effectively begin raising themselves (or each other) once they reach their teens & start hanging out with their friends all the time.

i don't blame anything in particular really, but maybe its music, im a teen and i tend to listen to rock and metal, and the other kids who listen to it tend to be more violent but it could also be in the home and the fight music is just a thing that provokes them.

Here is my Opinion.

Small children should not be exposed to shows and games that are inapproriate for them. But every child is different and their parents should know whats good for them and whats not.

The problem I have with this is, if we play these games, that others are not fond of, we are looked down at, as some sort of mindless idiot who thinks it is okay to murder people.

Just because we play games does not mean we think violence is okay or anyways acceptible.

Shrek is great but what age is it appropriate for? I have seen children in nappies watching the dragon scene from Shrek - children less than a year old. Is this appropriate? The problem is, in my opinion, that too many people do not see the problem with this. "Shrek is harmless," people say. Yes, for the right age. For babies sitting around while Mum chats on the phone, paying no attention to what is on the screen? No, that's not good.

These video games on here, I played them before. Like the zombie one. But I never got the idea that it is alright to cause this to other people, it just horrible. I'm only 13 and a half but I think that teens who think violence is ok have weak minds. I watch a couple of shows with violence because most of them are epic like Cowboy Bebop but I never got the idea to cause harm to other people. It is ridiculous. I do agree Pastor Kerry, tv, the internet, and video games are responsible for this.
