I have had similar thoughts about your definition of magic, I've defined it simply as unknown, undiscovered technology; an example is if one where to go back in time, or go to a tribe outside of modern society, they would consider a flashlight magic.And the trilogy you talk about, is while in the physical universe, outside the body, you're just a being, no body nor mind, unless your definition of mind is thought. I believe beings created energy, all is energy, creator can alter creation.

One really good example of magick becoming science I think of a lot is our ability to "communicate" from a distance vs the telephone being invented. There are a very few people in my life I will communicate with from a distance. It really does work :-)

So I see where your coming, saying that we either should believe in it or not, because it's just like our reality. But it's a question of something that is in our reality, or perhaps it transcends our reality into the "true" reality? It's probably an unanswerable question though, I feel as if I'm looking for a solid example that magic works and it exists. That can't be possible though.

So I just put more thought into it, and you make a great point. This "reality" we take for granted may not auctualy be "real" at all. We basically take faith into believing it's real, but this reality is all we know, we don't have much a choice. We couldn't really prove weather it's real or not, so we just ignore it an assume it's true to move on in life, as nothing comes of believing it's not true.

Well this is where it starts to get difficult. Obviously if there is something that proves that it works, then everyone would be praticing it. How would you get any results though, if you are basing it purely on faith. You wouldn't know if your spell worked or not wouldn't you? As if it worked, it wouldn't be based on faith but based on the fact that it works.

Magick is really sounding like selective memory. Just like a false moral booster that leads to something happening because you think it's going to happen. "Self-fulfilling prophecy" they call it. I'm not trying to argue or saying your wrong, but what's your idea on this?

@Peter1992t interesting theory, my thoughts are to a degree that is very argueable. however where do you draw the line, can you take a breath and feel it? can you feel the wind on your skin or pay attention to the gravity that pulls you to the earth? how do you know you are really feeling these things? how do you know they are real? or are we simply told? there are messurable ways to test alternations to one own body, through magick. it's all about blind faith, either you accept it or you don't

@BlazeLeeDragon ultimatly it's up to each individual to decide. the theory of what magick is can be exstended to any conscience reculection of anything. from your childhood to weather or not the moon exsists and affects the ocean. we don't know, we feel it. is it possible those that practice are just crazy? absolutly, but arn't we all crazy to a degree? look at how we nickname things and consider ourself more superior...tell me why are we alive? what makes us alive? and conscience? aware?

@688batman magick can take years to learn and a lifetime to master. chants are not needed but it depends on which style of magick you wish to learn. you also have to ask yourself WHY you want or need to do magick. magick will not solve problems for you it will only enhance your life. anythning can be harmful potential but magick it's self is usally not harmful. when you start to mess with forces you dont' understand or entities then it becomes dangerous

I appreciate your insights, but why does it need to be explained with science? That takes something away from it. Authenticity and Worldview becomes corrupted when you start to explain it using science. That's not what our ancestors believe in. They believed in Sympathetic and Contagion works.

@Lindormrune because, with out the "science" explaination, the average person may or may not understand. Not to mention, science is from a latin word meaning knowledge and is the pursuit of knowledge. Science of today is researching the magick of yesterday. So it maybe unneeded but it can help others to understand what it is.
