The reason they do that is because the game is incredibly intense (possibly the most intense in the world) and it is a crucial moment (match point) so he is bound to be angry, he obviously isn't trying to insult the ref, he is just letting out steam.
Why do squash referees allow players to behave like that? so you can just make any kind of signal to a ref with no consequences??? wow! any other sport that I know of a signal like the one shabana made and he would get some kind of penalty during and after the match, Jonathan Powers use to do the same, its just common practice I guess.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt... I haven't seen the earlier part of the match, but based on what we see here, the umpiring appeared to be atrocious! Given the stakes, I can understand their frustration. Having said that though, there definitely should have been at least one conduct penalty here (Shaba's gesture). The rules allow it and ref should have enforced it. Until squash can sort its umpiring out, it'll have little chance of an Olympic spot, and that's a real shame!!
You have no idea what you're talking about, refereeing had absolutely nothing to do with squash not making the olympics. You're just another moron passing by trying to discredit a sport you have no fucking clue about before the final olympic inclusion decision was made. Fuck off.
Um... Who pissed in your Cheerios this morning? And how exactly am I trying to discredit squash? If anything, I thought I was stating the obvious. I know few players (even at the pro level) who are happy with the refereeing in squash. On the other hand, many are critical of the current standards. Squash is a great sport, but the standard of refereeing is hurting it. But then, having evangelists such as yourself doesn't exactly help either.
It's all the ref's discretion. He definitely should have gotten a conduct warning, but maybe the ref didn't see it, maybe he didn't react fast enough, maybe he has no balls. Although I agree conduct warnings should be given out in cases like this, no one wants to pay to see games and especially not matches end on conduct penalties.
U must understand , shabana doesnt give a shit :) , thats just how he is

why are egyptians dominating squash
ichichich999 2 years ago
their racquet work is just superior, and they are incredible athletes...overall they might just be working harder than the Europeans and Australians.

yet they do not possess the shots that the pakistanis have. in a few years, the pakistanis will be dominating the game.
