White bread and innocent as this show was, as a kid, I wanted to nail Donna Pescow and Debra Lee Scott since Saturday Night Fever and Welcome Back Kotter, respectively. Even if I didn't know what sex was at the time. How long has Doris Roberts been playing "mom" roles?
I loved this show when I was eight! The executives in Hollywood are always knocking themselves out trying to figure out what kids like and what adults like, when quite honestly, they really don't know squat. (I suppose they thought I should be watching Little House on the Prairie, which always scared the #?&!#! out of me, what with people dying and going blind.) What a shame this didn't run longer.
Robert Hays is hot! My favorite show of the 80's with him was "Starman" (1986) where he played the alien, alongside C.D. Barnes, who played his son, Scott Hayden.
Doesn't Doris Roberts look like the mom on "That 70's Show"?
Although I like the radio version of this song better, you can actually understand the lyrics better in the TV version.
I'd rather have spent 5 years w/ (((THESE))) people than that horrible, horrible show 'Dharma & Greg', which was a blatant rip-off from _this_ show! Seth McFarlane was RIGHT to trash D&G all those times. It was bad, bad, bad. This show _should_ have gotten a chance!
@barnesandnoblenook I couldn't agree with you more, my friend - in fact, Doris Roberts remarked in her book, "Are You Hungry, Dear?", that this charming show should have been a hit.
I still cheirsh this show to this day, mostly because i consider Angie and her family and friends to be my friends - I suppose that's somewhat crazy, but it happens.
@JWLJN Embarrassing to watch, isn't? Between this, The Love Boat and Happy Days, it made weirded me out! lol Yet... as a kid, I wanted to do that!!! :-/ Never got a chance to. Damnit, where's MY head bob????
I think this might have been the first time I really saw Doris on a regular basis on tv. I love her! Did then too! Loved Angie so much! It was such a good cute show! Donna was so sweet since SNF...
when i was a little girl i did remember the theme song...but not so much the sitcom, thank you for posting it! i was looking for this for quite some time***
How well I remember watching Angie. It really was a terrific sitcom. What a great cast! It's really unfortunate that Angie only ran for two seasons. It was a popular show, but ABC kept shuffling around the show's timeslot eventually leading to cancellation of this fabulous short lived gem.
Cute show great theme!!!!!!

@DaveFromBrooklyn about a million years LOL. She actually wrote an autobiography and in it she talked about all her mom roles.

I love how all of the Pennsylvania women have thick New York accents.
Sharon Spelman is a ringer for Shelley Long.
I wish more shows today were this carefree and breezy.

@myrnaturner It's only a 100 mile difference. If you go to Philly, except for some minor inflections and slang, the accents can b hard to tell apart.

holy crap. they used to arrange and layer the hell out of those theme songs back then. that music is spectacular.

Best TV song ever. Why is everyone painfully clumsy? lol

It's the theme of the season...the first season everyone bobbed their head back and forth in their little "circle."

That was a funny show. Great theme song too. One of the best from the 70s.
That Robert Hays was one good looking guy...and Donna Pescow was real cute!
