They probably spent <5 minutes on spastically placing at least 100 of the same ugly textured and generic fire ball animation all over the place, like midair. Having a just as ugly textured generic dark-edgy evil dragon 24/7 breathe an ugly fire animation at no particular object, and having none of the buildings or anything whatsoever change at all.

And all the blizzard-addicted basement dwelling roleplayers go "OMG", cause they've never looked at a non-blizzard game. Without 1995 graphics.

that looks crap. globs of fire hanging in the air. spend some money blizzard and make it look like deathwing smashed the place up, change a few textures, busted down buildings. Just having silly fire animations repeated everywhere looks terrible. so annoying, they have the chance to do something truly epic and instead they decide on this.

@R4z0rEdg3 yeah I understand that, I've been playing the game for years, the alarming thing is a lot of things go through from the PTR realm not fully tested and they frantically patch it afterwards, but that's not really my main concern. It just looks bad. You can add in those flames but they need to be buring on different building textures, to make it look like the flames are actually burning something. at the moment it looks like faerie fire. Its kind of hard to explain.

@brucewillis2 The wow engine is 5 years old, fairly difficult if not near impossible to do much more than what they are doing. And we don't know everything blizzard are working on, they might change to a completely new engine soon, perhaps in the expansion after Panda land.

Have you seen the trailers for the latest expansion, sure its kungfu panda's but the scenery looks good - maybe a 5yr old engine but they are capable of doing something good with it.
