I have Neil Young's second album, "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" released in 1969, and it has Cinnamon Girl as side 1, track 1. Neil's first album came out in 1968, it was called "Neil Young". I also have the first AC/DC album, "High Voltage" released in 1975, even though they formed the band in 1973.
No wonder kids today all want to play guitar and be rock singers! All the inspiration they need is right here! What have they got today? John Mayer? Gimme a break!!!!
FYI-- Angus Young (no relation to Neil) lead guitarist for and co-founder of AC/DC was only 14 years old when "Cinnamon Girl" was released on the 1969 album "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere."
To blueberries4ever-I totally agree at 62 i have slowed very little.Still loveR&R music.Spent most of the 60's in rock bands playing organ and lead singer. For the last 37 years i have been and still am a TEXAS STATE TROOPER-HIGHWAY PATROL.My son is also a STATE TRP.Long live Neil Young. And remember ROCK AND ROLL FOREVER
Just because a person it out of their 20's doesn't mean they have lost it. I am 55 and you would have to get up pretty early in the morning to out-perform me.
Go Neil and Crazy Horse! The Copper State applauds you!
It was great to finally see Mr. Young perform this. Great guitar solo at the end! Keep on rockin in the free world. Neil played a demo of this on WABC in 1969. I thought it was too serious at the time. I love it now, of course.
I heard a rumor that neil has pretty big library of his "best stuff" that will only be released to public when he passes away :( I will be very sad the day he does.
That is absolutely the best video I have seen and heard of "Cinnamon Girl". Neil you are the greatest and always will be! Thanks for posting this great show, qbertplaya. (Just one year ago.)
AaronPaco, get your facts right. This song has been out for over 40 years. Neil is the author and original artist and NO ONE can out play him. Arizona loves Neil!
@AaronPaco Ok, I realize you made this comment a year ago, and you've been thoroughly corrected by now, but I'm curious how you could even think either song was a rip-off of the other?? The chord structures and harmonic progressions are not AT ALL alike! Even if you transpose the songs so they are in the same key, they don't sound anything alike.
i was born in 93' and i still listen to Neil young and will pass him onto my kids
