i dont know what he is tuned to here, specifically, but he uses that guitar when he plays seven nation army, and he is tuned to open A in that song. so use your own judgement there.

Yep. Open G. Pretty standard when playing a slide. There are many different variations of open tuning. I use Open D on my acoustic guitar a lot. Open D (D A D F# A D).
