I used to watch Shumsky record at Purchase College in New York State, USA and always admired his bow arm. It was like butter. Gould performed with some great players but I always thought he was better as a soloist, as such an individualist.

Shumsky was the two Emerson violinists' teacher.  She was suchhhhh a great violinist... What sweet sound.
