  • Check out my version to this song :)

  • Anyone else notice that the scream directly following the ending riff is also an Ab?

  • fucking audience, shut up. let me hear her beautiful voice.

  • FUCK THATS AMAZING

  • full-on goosebumps

  • kick that audience in their asses... annoying -.-' but her voice is incredibly amazing.

  • Damn!

  • oh god, oh wow, holy crap, she just KILLED IT!!!! Yessssss!!! :D :D

  • @kmarshallx3. Wow are you kidding me. Natalie is incredible. She is in no way screaming, but purely belting. You suck.

  • LOVE HER!!!!! She SHouldnt try to conduct cause there is no orchestra to follow her lol

  • is that a high G# i hear? .......the fact that shes human is debatable.

  • That audience is horrible! so annoying

  • I thinks she's got a voice, but she's an alto. Some of those notes come out screamed...

  • @kmarshallx3 ew... You know nothing... even a soprano would sing it like that.. so SHHHHH. :]

  • @ChocolateCaliente062 Except I have my bachelors in Vocal Music Education with a minor in Performance specializing in Broadway/Classical singing...

  • @ChocolateCaliente062 And I'm not talking about the way she sang it necessarily, I'm talking about tone. :)

  • Dont get me wrong! Shes an amazing sing her, which is why it PAINS me to deliver this bit of information.

My friend saw her understudying the role in either Les Miserables (Fantene) or Wicked (Elphaba) (idk which one cuz he said she was ensemble in both, but in one of those two, she was the role, not understudy if that makes sense...) and he said she sounded BEAUTIFUL, HOWEVER she cant act to save her life. The sound was there, but not the feeling and the emotion! He said it was so boring!

  • Shivers. She's AMAZING

  • wonderful riffs and runs

  • you're amazing !

  • people need to shut uup!

  • She certainly can sing, but I wouldn't like to see her an as actual Elphaba.

  • AMAZING!!!!!

  • i have maybe watched 3:14... over 100 times. hell yes.

  • People are fucking rude! like seriously the girl is singing BRILLIANTLY and they're still fucking talking. how disrespectful .

  • aha, did you hear "YEA BITCH!" at 2:44 - 2:45

  • Comment removed

  • the riff at the end is INCREDIBLE! i love that she puts her own spin on it. i would love to hear a better quality recording of this!

  • eh it was ok

  • Too bad we don't have a video of this without the loud crowd...thanks for filming though, way better than nothing! And on a side note, her Kristin Chenoweth was dead on!

  • THE END!!! WOW!!!!!!!!

  • Why did she never go on as Elphaba? She was the Understudy but never went on...

  • @jewey896 because she can't act, sadly. despite her siiiiick vocals, it would be disappointing to watch Wicked and feel absolutely nothing because Elphaba can't act...or maybe the main girl never got sick...

  • @jewey896 I actually saw her as the understudy in Chicago three years ago. I remember her last name on the little slip saying she was the understudy. Amazing voice, decent acting.

  • 3:13 'Nuff said.

  • SHE NEEDS TO BE ELPHIE!!!!! KNOW!!!!!!!!!

  • @Mgirl32 she was the original understudy on the second national tour but left a month after it opened but she never went on :(

  • WOW!!! very impressive

  • lol the gay guy talking the lyrics at the beginning, but WOW, she is AMAZING!!!

  • @NatalieBroadwayBound At first when the video was beginning but then when I heard him too I started laughing. xD

  • WOWOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOW TO THE ENDING

  • Omg... Mind. Blown.

  • There's gunna bwe a movie versionn?

  • Where did they get all those rude drunks in the audience? She should have walked off!!

  • @Sportsmaven Ummm its a bar :L x

  • @asswhole239 Well that explains why there is such a collection of jerks in one place!

  • @Sportsmaven Lmao they aren't jerks, its part of the atmosphere lmao the bar (splash) always has broadway stars and performers performing lol its jsut what it is :L x

  • @asswhole239 Why a talented person would perform in a bar is beyond me.Loud mouth drunks are a lousy audience.

  • @Sportsmaven To please, and build there fan base? x

  • @Sportsmaven Um...maybe you're young, but there are plenty of very talented people who can't get space to perform ANYWHERE, let alone a bar. Quite frankly, having a high energy, low pressure audience is great for a young actress/singer who needs to work on her stage presence.

Plus, good high belting is the way to any gay man's heart. I bet she made a bunch of fans this night =)

  • @tggold I am not young( over 60) and my generation generally was taught to

listen when someone is talking or performing.I suppose that is one of the reasons why the " bar scene " is

not where I have ever hung out.

  • WHAT? A MOVIE VERSION? I HOPE TO GOD THEY MAKE ONE!

  • Saycon's riffff!!!! "I'm flying high... defyiiiIIiiinnnggggg gravity"

    Love that riff!!!

  • CRAP. THE PEOPLE THERE WERE REALLY DISRUPTING AND DISRESPECTFUL. HEARD THAT GUY WHO MICMIC HER AT THE LAST NOTE? DISGUSTING.

  • Self-absorbed, obnoxious, consumerist fuck heads!! What a disgusting audience!!!

  • She was only the understudy for elphaba on the 2nd national tour, she needs to be lead!

  • @iBenjafied i heard it

  • Rudest audience ever.

  • I had to backtrack and listen to certain parts over and over again! SHE IS PHENOMENAL!

  • @iBenjafied i heard it

  • I actually adore this woman. Her voice is perfection <3

  • damn

  • I can't belive the stupid American Idol judges. Poo to them, you are better than any of the finalists of any season!!!

  • @catkisser her voice was no where near as good as it is now when she auditioned , plus it's quite clear she has a theatre voice , she blongs on Broadway , they did her a favour.

  • That Ab5 riff is my new favorite thing in the whole world.

  • @Biskmut amen to that! I would kill for her voice! omegoodness!

  • 2:56

half the audience sings "ME~" XD

  • This is just brilliant.

  • You have such a beautiful tone and control to your voice. It makes me wanna quit singing and just listen to you.

  • haha my fave part is the kristin chenoweth imitation :P

  • her riffs are sick. insanely good!

  • ugh she needs to not be an understudy and just freaking be casted. PLEASE! someone give me a million bucks, a theatre and i'll freaking do it!

  • @idiotbunnyproduction wasnt she an understudy for the 1NT for like a month I think it was when the tour opened...

  • Dude Love the riffs at end lol

  • @iBenjafied No i heard that too lol that is interesting lol

  • I had chills... like... the whole time

  • holy crap

  • lol, the optional(optional) high A

  • she blows my mind.

the last riff....are you kidding me?!?

    holy poo she's good.

  • I love how she put her own twist on it, instead of going straight from Idina Menzel. Refreshing. (:

  • AMAZING voice. I'd love to see her play Elphaba. What a wild crowd. I'm glad they're enthusiastic about her but, seriously, SHUT UP for a second. Still, her voice blows me away. I adored the last run.

  • i love you! thats all i need to say lol

  • wait is this at splash in louisiana?

  • @bpurvis123 nope nyc

  • oh my god. you're just perfect!

  • She's great, but what a rude audience. I felt so sorry for her! I would have walked off stage in disgust or pulled a Patti Lupone if people were behaving like that while I was performing - especially such a hard song!

  • @iBenjafied it's a term of endearment in the gay community....

  • AMAZING!!! why is Natalie not on Broadway or have an album on iTunes???? She has one of the best vocies i've heard in a long time. Great video except for the really annoying background voices

  • Someone + Natalie: it's time to trust my instincts

    Close my eyes

    Someone: and leap..

    Natalie: and leeeeeeap

    what an ass hole.

  • I'm so upset that she has never actually played Elphaba! When she sings like that!!

  • I LOOOOVEEEE THAT LAST RUN!!!!!!! OMG!!!!

  • WOOOW.

  • Are you kidding me?!? Someone needs to kidnap her and force her to try out for Elphaba on Broadway! Right now, please.

  • @ReinoChap she was an understudy for elphaba, but never went on.

  • if only ur audience WULD SHUT UP!!!

  • If only your audience could SHUT UP!! you would sound better.

  • if only ur audience could shut the fuck up for 3 minutes.

  • wow. what an amazing voice. im interested to know where this club is, and how music theatre can be sung at a place...must have a big a music theatre fanbase.

    love ur high notes. :-)

PS: oh just noticed the 'musical mondays'...wow thats awesome :-) wish we had that in australia.

    wow wow wow!

  • @iBenjafied I think he said "GET IT, BITCH!!"

  • OOOMMMGGG!!! that was soooooooo good! You are outstanding x

  • elphaba in the movie... she has to be

  • Amazing! You're completely distracting me from writing 3 ten page papers due in two days, and I couldn't be happier

  • YES at 2:44 "SING IT BITCH" She's great!

  • She's singing the song beautifully (love the song, too). Just wish there wasn't so much noise in the background. Wicked is coming to my town next year. I've read that Natalie Weiss has played Elphaba in the touring cast, so here's hoping...

  • people are so rude.. i hate people like that

  • As far as the "rude crowd," it's all about where the camera/mic is. If this was recorded in the middle of a bunch of partying club-goers (who all paid, and seem mostly to be digging the singing), then it's hard to isolate the sound coming from the speakers far away up over the stage.

  • wth.. rudest club ever..

  • Effortless.

  • My jaw just hit the floor. That was utterly amazing! And all of those people in the club were... very rude. I mean, how could you NOT stop, stare, and just listen to that phenomenal voice???

  • hahaha, the kristin chenoweth impression

    natalie weiss is my favorite.

  • lol Love the Kristinn Chenoweth impression!

  • wow those people are rude. its so disrespectful to an artist when people talk during a performance. even if its at a club. some people are singing along, but others are just yammering away like theyre not even listening. why be there if you're not gonna listen?

  • @evieb07 i don't think its that serious, lol

  • @Ndbstar729n well speaking from personal experience, i would have hated it if people had been talking when i performed on stage.

  • @evieb07 ITS A CLUB!

  • @evieb07 they're at a freaking club, what do u expect.

  • Wow. She's Amazing

  • Its sad she never got to go on when she was a temp understudy :[[[

maybe she'll come back, she's great!

  • I wish there was a better version (audio-wise) by Natalie on youtube.. she's amazing.

  • I was lucky enough to meet her- she's AMAZING. I love her~

  • It's too bad Simon Cowell couldn't hear the real Natalie.

  • That was an insane melisma at the end. So high! So seemingly effortless! I usually can't stand this song, but she made it not only palatable, but some kinda wonderful.

  • Natalie is just great. What is most remarkable about her delivery of this song is how easy it is for her to just clobber those big notes -- no struggle, no strain.

  • that audience needss to stfu

  • they all sound drunk lolol and theres that one person whos just talking the lyrics...

  • If/when she become Elphaba, the audience will eat up her defying gravity. It is amazing, and will probably get even better.

  • she's brilliant :]

  • holy shit =)

  • Holy crap that was INCREDIBLE!!!!

  • OMG my sentiments exactly

  • I CAN´T BELIEVE IT!!

  • Amazing, so much more power than SJB, and yet less strain on the voice...

  • shes no SJB or Donna...sorry

  • you're right, she's better :)

  • wasn't expecting the end!! WOW

  • love it! Very strong voice! but idina still is the best elphaba in my book.

  • I agree 100%

  • Ha ha, those annotations are completely adorable.

As is Natalie. She's adorably kick ass.

  • better than idina, and the audience has the worst manners ever! SHUT UP !

  • holy crap...im in love

  • haha i heard it too!

  • dude...she can sing her ass off ! it doesn't even seem hard for her!

  • yeah she had some bad notes ... but some effin good ones too. her belt is off da hook ... ya i vote for her for the movie ... or stephanie block.

  • her rifts are just so awesome, i can't get over it.

  • holy crap! she's awesome!

  • amazing! where has she been!

now shes one of my faves!!!

  • Only you could sing a song like this just as good as Idina :)

  • I think I heard it too??

  • sick ending note! love it!

  • whoa!!! she needs to be casted IMMEDIATELY!!!!! she's friggin a-mazing!!!! she sings it so much like eden.. i love it!!!!!!!!

  • WOW. SHE IS A.MAAAZ.ING. HOW AWESOME WAS THAT ENDING?? I looove this song... and that ooooh she did... magical

  • um crazy skills much? she is amazingggggggggggg. My absoloute Idol!

  • wow shes awesome but i still LOVE dee and eden :]

  • i love it so amazing i love this song

  • Comment removed

  • So, she is a great singer. But no one will ever top Idina, just because of how incredibly well she set the stage for this character no one, in my eyes, will ever play it better.

  • that would be amazing if she was elphaba in the movie version!!!

  • beautiful version, and perfect amount of runs, not too much much, not too little. and very unique ending, i haven't heard anyone attempt that route but her.

  • absolutely amazing!

  • That's definitely a riff I've never heard before on the last "ooooh..." Fantastic.

I just wish there weren't so many people talking.

I could totally see her as Elphaba.

  • I love the person who subtitiled this. NATALIE IS AMAZING ALSO

  • I wish the people in the background would stop talking during her song.

  • shes AMAZING!! if idina menzel doesnt play elphaba in the movie version, im banking on her!! so so good. that ending was absoloulty fantastic 5/5!! what a woman!! xx

  • at 3:15 some guy screams the note that she is singing lol. How cool is that!

  • wow

  • wowowowowowowow. Did you hear that last note??!?!?! holy crap! Amazing

  • man i love her voice!!

  • you are beautiful btw with a voice to match :)

  • wow, i saw her on idol, she is MUCH MUCH MUCH BETTER NOW! she was good on idol, but stunning here!

  • The beginning was pretty blah, so I wasn't expecting much out of the rest of the song. But then out of nowhere, she nailed the hard stuff! I love how creative her riffs were! I just wish she didn't gesture up and down when the notes changed. :-/ Really bugged me. But I have so much respect for her as a singer that "makes it her own."

  • I AGREE about the hand gestures!

  • She uses that hand gesture to hit those notes! It is a vocal Technique actually! It is kinda weird but it would be kinda just average without that hands...

  • She's going places.

  • omg this is the only person that comes close to idina

    AMAZING!!!!

  • are you saying she sounded like shit, because live Idina did, Natalie however does not, she is simply brilliant

  • Ummm nooooo....

I just said she was amazing, smart one.

I said she was the only person as good as Idina....

    Lighten up.

  • Hmmm...Apparently, you haven't heard of this little thing called an "opinion." Every person has an off night, and if you are basing this information off only the youtube videos, then you are extremely ignorant. If you saw every single live show she was in, then maybe I will listen.
