This for the silly people who walk in darkness (atheist) In the beginning was the word, and the was with God, and the word was God. He was with God in the beginning,. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
Yawn.........Oh look.....it's a Unicorn!! And people doubt that they are real......silly rational people......when will they learn? Just close your eyes and click your heels together and repeat after me.......it's got to be real......it's got to be real........it's got to be real.......pretty please......take me to the fluffy place in the sky where my Unicorn Daddy reigns over all his children!
I woke up today thinking about this old hymn of the church. This happens to be my birthday. What a wonderful present that Christ gave to me, and all of us!
@Mella549 He already has. Believe that He is Lord, and you shall be saved. He loves you very much, despite all that you have done. You are precious in His eyes. And always will be :)
continue from below. Jesus has keft the flock and is looking for the one lead astray! I can only tell of my story! Going basically totally deaf and having a failed cochlear implant that took all of my balance away-I therefore totally disable. Had second cochlear inplant but still have no balance. Have some hearing now. Had I not had to wait the one year in deafness- I instead got a profoundly much better :hearing device! I had to relearn hearing all over. Lost hearing due to mumps!
Since I have walked away and came back, I once blamed God/Jesus for everything wronged including accidental of 3 cousins in different accidents when I was younger. Reality is satan/God cannont use us. There is another song that says it all call "Farther Along"- why does it seem that wickedness is blessed--is it demons glorifying it to turn our hearts. Axlcrush, I see your point, but look at the whole context of Isa. 52:14 to 53:5. It isn't Jesus per se who was unattractive but Jesus when filled with bloody cuts and bruises:
". . . his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: . . he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him."
Axlcrush, here is Isa. 53:3-5, key context for 53:2:
"He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Handsome actor playing Jesus. Interesting as according to the Bible in Isaiah 53 he was not someone we would admire or find attractive . Just sharing a thought... :-)

Jesus died for our sins. Jesus washed our sins away and Jesus has saved me, literally, time and time again! Believe it! It's true. Have faith! Have faith everybody.
Our father can do anything. If you have enough faith, he can even heal you. He saved my life! Amen. Thank you, for this post and thank you, rosesredvioletsblue for sharing this with me. God bless you!
Jesus is not the reason for your suffering. People are so quick to blame Jesus for their losses and for everything else that happens to them during their life, but did you ever think to blame the real reason for your suffering? Satan comes to kill, steal, and to destroy, but Jesus brings you eternal life! He loves you and would never do anything to hurt you or make you suffer!
@FeliciaMonique89 so good things that happen are God and bad things are Satan? Why would God allow Satan to hurt HIS children? I protect my children from evil...why doesn't God protect us?
@AddisonBrooke Hello Addison. You have asked a profound and deeply human question. It sounds as if you have had some tremendous hurt inflicted on you that you may still be searching for some reason as to why that happened? There are no quick easy answers to your question. It has been asked since the book of Job was written and if you have not yet read Job, it might help in answering your question. C.S. Lewis one time wrote, "God whispers to us in our joy, but He shouts to us in our pain."
@FeliciaMonique89 Felicia, God *does* protect us, but we need to call on Him first. It's still not easy though. As Addison put it, read the book of Job. Job went thru a tremendous amount of pain and suffering, but God did not let satan kill him. As long as we live on this earth, we will have pain and suffering b/c of sin. For those who lose their lives now, if they belonged to God (served God w/their lives), they are in Paradise w/Christ and totally free of ALL suffering.
The key change IS beautiful and adds to the worshipful nature of this arrangement - let's not be so quick to criticize and judge the next person... why can't our comments be positive and uplifting to each other? Blessings to all!
That is what is wrong with Christianity today. In this video we see reminders of the horrible things that our Savior suffered for us and the person below is worried about a key change! This song isnt for your enjoyment. It is meant as a reminder of what a wretch we are and what the perfect spotless Lamb of God went through to redeem us. Get over the key change and go tell someone that you dont want to see them go to Hell.

what i will say some will not understand.. please i love my brothers and sisters and this is not to point fingers but, i would rather hear an old drunkard with a raspy voice singing this from the top of his lungs out of key than to hear someone that changes the singing key amid a song... i don't get what the fascination is about sound.. yes it might be beautiful but where christians differ is that the worship is beyond the song, the words cary more and yet... isn't a key change so distracting.ah
You apparently know nothing of true worship. The hymn is building in intensity as the Spirit is filling (and the singer's are feeling it) the singers. If you sang or did music and truly worshipped, you would have experienced this feeling. Dah
praise the Lord. how could we ever thank Him enough for the love that He freely gives? christians, let our lives be an example of who Christ is. we will fail Him daily, but let us always remember that He is the author and perfector of our faith. let us strive to honor Him in our speech and conduct because He deserves the best that we can offer, even though our good deeds may be as filthy rags. praise Jesus, gloify the Lord Jesus Christ.
This song is so beautiful and it was one of the first songs that helped me build my relationship with GOD. @Erlo3 Yeah perhaps, need to check the original text maybe as the phrase ' there is no beauty' seems odd for the context of being beaten and scared

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
