I dunno, I'm open-minded. If the racing is good then I'm in and customization can add a lot to a game if they do it right. I actually like NFS Underground. And in my original vision for RR8, I had open-street races as a new feature for the game so this falls into that vision.
But didn't Namco get behind SRS: Street Racing Syndicate? Ick.

No, it's not an in-game songs. They aren't close to what you'd REALLY expect from a racing game. It's just like Gran Turismo, but it doesn't have all the cool cars. It's supposed to be inside a real racing event, without all the graffics. I really enjoyed the 'Heat' thing. I loved making peopel 'feel the heat' and brake. They even spinout, oversteer, or don't steer and it's fun.
I liked the guitar at the start. but then the man started singing and I took an arrow to the knee.

I think Ridge Racer 8 (if it ever comes) should include a few real-world course and licensed vehicles as a nod to R: Racing Evolution.

This game was completely underated
The pit crew manager on the radio and the pressure system really add the the racing experience. Not a full sim but worth playing

I like the Ridge Racer series.. but i never had the opportunity to play R:Racing. Reviews says it is kinda lame, but... it not look so bad.
