  • HEAVY METAL AMP YEAH!!

  • Lol he was frickin' killing that guitar

  • Engl's have amazing tone. Love this amp!

  • sounds like my Rocktron Pirahna/velocity 300-4x12 stack! but not nearly as good!

  • best metal amp ever, straight up balls

  • I really like the clean and distorted sound of the amp, but my worries are that a shared EQ is somehow not gonna work if I want to switch channels during a song ? u guys have any oppinion on that ?

also what footswitch would fit with this amp, so that I can switch the Midboost on/off and from the clean to lead channel ? cheers guys

  • @menuuzer Dude, I owned the Fireball 60 for years but sold it to buy the Savage and the shared eq is pretty cool so no real worries there. The footswitch is a z4 which you can use 2 of them one for the channel switching and volume boost and the other for the midrange boost. Personally, I think ENGL should've designed it for 1 footswitch like the Z5...still a great straight ahead amp with some cool features.

  • @menuuzer try an eq pedal, just switch it on when you switch channels

  • @menuuzer z4

  • well this is guy is just wanking his guitar, doing some tapping, alright man you're a good technician, but did you explore the sounds possibility of this amp ? Nah, so that's useless

  • looks like the tubes are blinkin

  • And to think Doug has the lead gain at halfway only...I think i'm leaning towards this amp.

  • Hey Doug, you must be the happiest guy in metal I've met. Like your attitude and playing...

  • i hope that guy pulls alot of ass after he shreds out a demo \m/

  • hard to tell what the amp actually sounds like when it's so quiet you can hear the pick hitting the strings. lame. and don't play eruption.

  • @blackdeathgrind I heard the amp loud and clear and the fact it sounds so good at low volume, one can only imagine how good it will sound cranked. Who cares if Doug plays a little piece of Eruption. He's a nice guy with great talent...lay off and lighten up dickhead...:)

  • I would kill, rape, and steal to get that fucking thing because it's like a godsend especially to those who want that tone that no other amp could possibly put out. If somehow, just SOMEHOW someone could even come close to model it on a SS amp, I would buy that shit in a heartbeat.

  • I have this amp it sounds just great my best amp yet! Sounds awesome loud too and so smooth it kills my old JVM

  • @kissrocks45 Serious? I had a JVM205 head and sold it and for a while I had regrets. SO the ENGL owns the Marshall?

  • @5150VanAlien yeah its warmer and not as bright and the low end button really adds bottom end tons of power. im using greenbacks.

  • @kissrocks45 Dude, how do you find it responds with the greenbacks, does it sound vintage or still a good metal tone. I'm tossing up between the Blackmore, Powerball II or the Fireball 100. I already have the Savage and that's a beast. Essentially the Fireball 100 and Powerball II should have a similar tone though the PB II has more features.

  • @5150VanAlien check my vids, not the best player though. does metal fine

  • @kissrocks45 Yeah checked them out and the Beat It vid...sounds cool, thanks.

  • Fireball 100 vs Dual Rectifier!

Which one is more versatile in your opinion?

    I'm for Engl

  • The EQ is way off from what I would set on mine, and it still sounded amazing. ENGL is the shit.

  • @illusionfreak true word

  • Hi, does it sound decent at lower/bedroom volumes? Thanks

  • @Longduk1

good question, I want to know that too.

  • @Longduk1

100 watt tube heads never do

  • @noremac91 Not true.

  • @jacka94 Tubes have to run hot in order to sound completely full, Some sound good at really low volumes, but in order to get the amps full performance you gotta crank it

  • @noremac91 Orly? That doesnt change the fact that 100 watt heads still can sound good at low volumes. You just stated that they never do.

  • @jacka94 Sorry i should have elaborated, a tube amp will never sound as good at low volumes, as it does at high volumes. I much prefer a hybrid practice amp like a Marshall Valvestate,

  • @noremac91

Dude are you fucking crazy? You are comparing Valvestate with Fireball?I have Valvestate and Marshall can suck this amps cock even at low volumes this is not old technology that overrated piece of shit like Marshall used where you needed to put your volume knob over 12 o'clock if you wanted a decent sound.I agree that tube amps sounds better on higher volumes but they kick ass on low also.

  • @Jebemvamkevu No i'm not comparing a valvestate to this in anyway at all lol, This thing is fucking amazing sounding, all i said was that for a simple practice amp i'd prefer a vox valvetronix or a valvestate because you have a large array of tones at low cost, low volumes and they sound good enough for practicing, for anything that i do requiring serious volume i go tube all the way, and i only wish i had one of these lol, I've just never had a tube amp that sounds very good at low volumes.

  • Amazing!!! I liked the Eruption stuff... :D

  • Amazing playing my friend.

  • Doug,

    Your playing is incredible...

    Best,

    Paul

  • this dude is insane :-D
