@barcakid101 yeah, I must agree with you. It's hard to even have a third power nowadays. I'm a huge Barça fan but I would like to see other teams getting back on track, such as La Coruna, Atletico de Madrid and even Valencia, despite the fact that I don't like Canizares at all! :)
@isashion yeah, that would be great. Unfortunetly Rivaldo and Barcelona don't seem to have such a good relationship nowadays. I think Rivaldo departure wasn't an easy one...
@isashion creo que ha sido el mejor gol en la historia del barcelona por lo que significo por el gesto tecnico una verdadera obra de arte de este señor rivaldo por algo es y sera de los mejores jugadores en la historia del futbol
@Wobertio47 yes, an i'll tell every you denies why: his goals were the only goals of his team scored, all three were from fairly tough positions with minimal assistance, his last goal was a bicycle kick, and the last goal was the winner! for those reasons, his hat trick we always be the best
@virtue08mofo "shit" is a strong word to call Neymar and Robinho. I agree that Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho (and Romário) are and were way better than both of them. Robinho is a good player, and that's it. Neymar... well, he is young. We will have to wait and see what he will become.
@Phonxer hmmm. tough question. Belleti's goal was the most important, but the less beautiful. Iniesta and Rivaldo goals were scored against more rivals teams. I would pick Rivaldo's because of the combination of different elements.
@troumacaq well, i dont know what to say, i mean look at iniesta's goal: he scored the goal 5 - 10 seconds before the end of the match, they wont the other two cups (La Liga cup and the League Championship) and the third title is the Champions League.
After an incredible season with a lot of goals, the beautiful 6 - 2 and a lot of more great results, Not Winning The Champions League could be so disappointment.
I was born in 1988. In terms of players who have spanned and peaked in my time watching football, Rivaldo is the greatest player I've ever seen. Ronaldo (both of them), Messi, Kaka, Scholes, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Maldini, Nesta, Zanetti, Henry, Van Nistelrooy, Raul, Batistuta, Nedved etc were all fantastic, don't get me wrong. But this man just had something extra. He did things I've seen nobody else do, was a man for the big ocassion and carried that side at times. As I said, the best I've seen.
the best attacking lineup i have witnessed in my life. i would not swap any of these players for any other, including messi. Ronaldo and Rivaldo i remember had telepathic understanding between them
@XenatR this was brazil line up in 2002 world cup. kaka was on the bench and Romario was supposed to be on that team. romario, rivaldo, ronaldo and ronaldinho played for Barcelona.
@soulen675 yes, but not all brazilians were special like that. romario, ronaldo, rivaldo and ronaldinho were really great playes (they all won fifa best player) and had a great time in Barcelona.
@troumacaq yeah I know, but those 4 players have been the best player when they played for barca and they all played for barca in the span of 10 years I mean, how many teams(not from brazil) has had as good player as those in the span of 10 from brazil
That's when i became barca fan to be honest and nothing has changed till this day regarding barca! So today i can celebrate another Champions League victory for making the best choice back in 2001! :)
This is the most amazing goal ever scored in my opinion, the sheer pressure of having to score, and doing it in this manner in the 89th minute is truly a remarkable achievement!!
i watched this game on television... man, it was magnificent... all rivaldo's goal put barca infront of valencia... and the last goal... wow... one in a lifetime i guess... not only it was a bicycle kick, and for the hat trick but for the weigh of the goal... barca was able to win and qualified for the champions league next season... truly a game worth remembering... i had tears of joy when he made that goal... it is almost a decade ago... and still worth watching and worth remembering for...
@bubs5898 I know Rivaldo isn't pride of that. But you can't judge a great player just for that action. It's the same thing for Zidane for instance. He can't be remembered just because of his last game in the 2006 World Cup.
@troumacaq nah mate, most of us know materazzi deserved it. plus zidane accepted his red card and walked away. rivaldo just plain cheated. very unfavorable.
@sixesandsevensus like I said, I'm sure Rivaldo is not proud of that. Rivaldo is a humble person, just look his normal behavior. Yes, what he did was not ethical but you can't say he faked the aggression because there was an aggression. Maybe the Turkish player would be sent off anyway.
@troumacaq I agree, maybe it was just a blunder on his part. But I'm sure you can understand how it's not exactly something that is going to endear him to the Turks...
@troumacaq Trying to hurt someone is arguably worse as well. But I don't judge them for such shit. I have called into work and pulled a sickie. That is also cheating. I don't think one dive deletes everything great he did fuck that. He is a legend and we should love him for the great memories he gave us. Why focus on the ONE bad. Humans aren't perfect. Fucks sake.

I remember watching this game like it was yesterday. I am a Real Madrid fan but this game made me cheer and scream for Rivaldo! One of the greatest hattrricks, performances and goals ever.

Rivaldo the world loves you, thank you for what you did with Brazil, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Barça, ....you made history my friend and still doing. DTM
Rivaldo=genius...he had everything, touch, technique, eye for goal, set pieces he was really unlucky not to win world player of the year...i can watch all his goals allday, still learn about touch,technique,skill..
@bwabyboi actually he won. In 1999 he was picked as the world's player of the year by FIFA. And in 2002 World Cup he had a major role in Brazil campaign.
Messi is great,Ronny was awesome but my favorite player is Rivaldo.Tall, perfect technics, just unique player. That goal was the best ever.Nothing can compare to it.Barca forever!
@2canable yeah. Rivaldo is an amazing player (he is not retired yet). He was one of the latest greatest strikers player maker. And you can see how is commited to every match he play.
Rivaldo has never really received the credit he deserves ive always thought!!. He was always over shadowed by Ronaldo in his early caerer, then Ronaldhino arrived on the scene and then Kaka shortly afterwards. What a conveor belt of talent Brazil continues to produce!! For me Rivaldo 10 is the greatest of his generation, And that Hat-Rick was the best of all time in such an important game!!

exactly!!!if barca hadn't won that match they would have many economical problems next seasons!that 's why i think that this moment is the best moment in the history of football!!!"huuuge" goal from an unbelievable player !!
this match was very important for barca as barca needed winning to play in champions league , in the other hand valencia needed to avoid losing the match to qualify ,, barca won 3-2 ,,

@DanilinhoD10 you tard!! costa is right, if utd had van der sar in goals or a proper keeper and they didnt have injuries in defence ronaldo would never have scored that hatrick and madrid didnt lose the first leg, they won 3-1 but i do think ronaldo deserved the standing ovation because without his knee injury he would have been clearly the best ever well possibly!!! so he deserved to reach the top again even if it was down to barthez making utd look like retards for the last time!!!

hmm, it`s hard to compare two different players like that. that`s because they just play in different positions. Rivaldo is more like a striker, and Zidane was an offensive midfielder.
there would never be another hat trick such as this one for probably the next 100 years but one thing i am ashamed of is how he just fell off the face of the earth after. such a sad story to a great player i hope that ronaldino's fate in ac doesn't end up the same.....
Rivaldo was 29 or maybe 28 years old at that time. not that old, I agree, but he played for Barça since 1997. It was the beggining of the end. he could have played for barça for some 2 years more.
Remember watching this game on television and I had just about given up hope when Rivaldo scored that goal, to this day it's one of the best goals I have ever seen. I have not seen a better hattrick but if there is one I'd love to see it. If not I am more than happy with this one.
This has to be one of the best hat tricks ever and if it's not please can someone post a better one.I watch this game live on the box,and i've never seen a better hat trick
back when la liga was awesome to watch, entertaining, skillfull with great teams.now its just two teams,so sad

hmm, it`s hard to compare two different players like that. that`s because they just play in different positions.
