The U.S. military is made to roll through the fields of Europe in Countries like France or Germany. They are not fit for combat in rice paddies, tropical heat, and hit and run nonmilitary assailants. Even with all the technology the Americans have they still can't hope to defeat China by any means other than total nuclear strike. Even if that happens every Chinese nuclear weapon will be fired plus the withdrawal of all NATO forces. They don't get into the nuclear exchanges.

Actually the Army was pushed all the way back almost to the tip of the peninsula. The marines were the only force to push into china and without the army they would have been slaughtered. Not to mention that the winter got so cold that the tanks froze where they were in the road. There were multiple accounts where entire units were slaughtered due to weather both in Korea and Vietnam.
The Korean War ended in stalemate because the U.S. didn't want war with China. The DMZ still exists.

You see unlike America, which needs to totally Dominate China to win a war with them, China just needs to hold out until America loses its resolve like it did in Vietnam.
