@jackofkiwiland I have the t3 lite stainless/synthetic also. I don't find the recoil anything to flinch about. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot 20rds without a limbsaver but more than that I would use one. Seems a lot of people make recoil a bigger deal than it is. Just use a scope with a long eye relief and don't cringe when you pull the trigger!
haha what was going down at 00:42 also just a couple questions as im looking at a tikka 300 win mag. is the recoil really that rough compared to a 308 or 30-06? do you use a limb saver or any sort of butt pad? and do people really get annoyed at you at your range for firing a 300 or using a muzzle break?
try letting the barrell cool down between shots and take your time youll see better groupings, at 300 yards 6 rounds should equal no more then 3 holes
@inkslingersunion my 300win mag kicks about the same as my 12gauge... i don't have any fancy recoil reduction accessories either. Must be some weak people or novice shooters saying it kicks like a mule!
@bambisniper I shoot a Tikka T3 Lite Stainless in .300 Win Mag and got a nice shiner on my shoulder after the first weekend of shooting it. I got a LimbSaver recoil pad and it worked wonders.

Ase Utra suppressor would help for that recoil and would make that group even more tighter.

have you got a muzzle brake. I got the same rilfe and it kicks like a fckn mule. Looking at getting a muzzle brake.

@PistiZsok no muzzlebreak mate it upsets the old guys at the range enough already!!!!
They are a sensible option to reduce recoil but be warned they make things a whole lot more noisy at the operator end of the rifle once fitted :)

@rockonmyfriend I didn't but Tikka make factory muzzle breaks for their tactical rifles of which .270cal isn't one of em.
Good gunshops will be able to modify your barrel to accomodate an after market muzzle break if you really want one.

Oh just FYI peoples, I actually cleaned the rifle properly for the first time in 6-9 months last night with ALOT of copper fouling.
It's as shiny as a fat rats eye now and hopefully groups come down a bit.

I own a Tikka T3 tac in .300 win mag topped off with a Bushnell Elite 4200.
(LOVE IT)
I load 71 grns of 2209 with 147 grn FMJ (winchester) for 300 - 600 yrds
700 - 1000 yrds I load 65 grns 2209 with serria 174 hpbt match kings.
