The tables really turned after the first tour on improvisation for power trios like Cream vs the Jimi Hendrix Experience, where Jimi was the ultimate frontman. Ginger and Jack were now opening up a new musical language, with Eric right along with them. This was 1968. Studio musicians ruled.
