I still love how all this abuse and torture happens primarily in Western sport and riding. I show jump horses and I used to dressage. Do injuries happen? Yep. But the riders care greatly about their horses and if a fall happens will immediatly help the horse.

Coyotefeathers, I competed in eventing for years, and I saw some quite awful abuse of horses, including horses being spurred so hard they had gouged sides, and a horse falling at a jump in practise, then the rider getting up and bashing the shit out of it with her whip. Alot of the horses are just treated like an expensive piece of meat. It annoyes me when ppl like you say all the abuse is with western, because that is a load of crap, abusive ppl are in all horse related sports.
