  • I had one of these..same model and everythng. I miss it .It's an excellent bike but I don't miss losing brakes when it gets wet. I wish I could find one now.

  • these memories almost brought me to tears..........thanks. best days of my life.

  • I had one of these for a couple of days. After spraining both ankles in 2 minutes trying to kick start it I sold it . I've Ridden open class bikes many times before including Honda Cr480 and YZ490 ,but my husky kicked back like no other .Nice lookin bike though .

  • Husky's rule!!!!!!

  • I don't know much about this kind of bike but is the 430 xc have the same power as a 250 or a 350? or is it just smaller liker a 150. I am considering buying one and i want something with enough power so i can drive it on the street after i get one, your reply would be much appreciated.

  • Too mint! Mines in a millions pieces, crank case is pitted to shit!

  • NIce bike, cant wait to get mine running......too bad the motors in pieces tho

  • superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Right on! cool that you've gotten it running better, a clutch job is expensive. where do you live? just asking about the elevation cause you changed the slide and went richer on the pilot. did it clean it up? I went for a short ride yesterday, my buddy has a EXC 530 that he put a bunch of stuff on and changed gearing, he wanted to test it out. I took my 390 and flat out kicked his ass, he was pissed! His bike is new and mine is 30 yrs old! Husky had it right from the begining. enjoy the 430 WFO!

  • @wrenchinremo

    Im around 1200 ft.

the pilot got leaned out one step, went down to a 40.

It did clean it up a bit

  • ok, while I'm venting, DON'T ride alone! I know your just out for a test ride, but man, are ya nuts? I got stuck in snow to my handlebars once and had to walk for 11 hours to get out of the dez, on the Utah Nevada border. Wearing stiff boots, I got very bloody ankles and feet. I could have died that day, I was a dumb ass! You are a stud! riding one handed with the camera in the other! Nice!

  • @wrenchinremo

    Its all good,

since this vid we have taken the pilot to 40 from 42 the slide to 2.5 from 2 and changed the clutch plates.

Its getting better all the time and i also got a helmet cam so no more one handed riding!

  • Sorry, I'm probably sticking my nose where it doesn't belong. It's your bike, I just have such a passion for these Swede Rockets, I can't help my self. I have a '80 OR 390 and 3 XC 500's a TX510 and a WXC 610 plus two KTM's and an ATK. I've got serious mental problems, I know! Don't take that damn spark arrester off, bad advice for keeping riding area open. Porting? How much more power do you need? they will already pull your arms out of the sockets! and match that to the sixxer, WOW big trouble

  • SWEEEEET Bike! the best displacement they made, perfect power! it's not the pilot (primary) jetting that is off, adjust the clip on the needle, raise it to lean it out. it idles just the way it should. I have 6 big bore 6 spd. scoots 2 & 4 stk. You may have to lean the pilot still, after adjusting the needle, I'm not there, but it sounds close. Open class Huskies are hard on clutches, they wear, then are out of adjustment. check the clearance at the pushrod (between the actuator mechanism & rod

  • man i miss that sound! all these 4 strokes nowadays.

  • I have the same bike. If you want to increase the power get rid of the stock pipe and spark arrester and put the cr pipe or aftermarket pipe on with a modern silencer. Also you can apply the husky race report which is a port job. I also notice the clutch is slipping on the top.

  • Hur fort går den där ?

  • Hes running on pilot" give it the beans

  • I had one of these when they first came out. I loved it. Thanks for posting. I love just seeing it and hearing the sound. It is soothing. It is a great bike that you could do everything with. I wish an aircooled bike like this was made now. It was fast and fun . When the brakes got wet it didn't stop. You just learned to ride without brakes.

  • My uncle's got one of these, except his is an '81. Very very fast bike, he takes it out every time we go on a ride. It can be a bit stubborn to start when cold, but it runs really well. He rode it with a friend who had a new (a few years ago) YZ425 and he just humiliated the guy. That YZ ended up with cracked rims at the end of the day, and now it's dead with a broken transmission. The Husky's still running better than ever.

    Happy Riding!
