It's a 6-71 midship engine. Most Crowns will likely be gone from California roads in the not too distant future because of their two-cycle Detroit Diesel engines.
@jfs1988 Apparently Western Christian has a 1967 tandem that is still in use. I just called the TD and left a message the other day; I heard from a friend down in LA that there's talk of retiring it this year. I'm located in IN, and I'm just now on the market to buy a Crown. Looking for "the one." And it's hard to do from up here ;)

I didn't knew school districts still owned these. I usually see them being used by private companies.
