But for Thai all of martial arts that use bare hands are easily called Muay Thai including joints breaking, bones crushing and using of fingers to press nerves...........which are excluded from professional boxing in the ring, and the reason is safety............so bored with caucasians that tried to be a smartass!!!

For foreigners, Muay means fighting that's it. For Thai it's Muay Thai any way.

"Boran" just means ancient. Those stuffs on the clip some of them are still being used by professional boxers in the ring. The reason we use the word "Muay Boran" is just to make foreigners easily understand the difference that it's a full combat style.

mma means mixed martial arts. it started as a styl versus style contest called the UFC by the Gracie family to show off how Brazilian jiu-jutsu did against other styles. Frankly it raped them. As soon as the other fighters started to train in it themselves it became less efffective and the fighters had to look for other ways to mix it up. This is the reason all mma fighters train a decent amount of thai techniques - cos frankly it works.

Vale Tudo is NOT a single martial art. Value Tudo literally translates to "anything goes". For decades, fighters from all over the world were fighting in Brazil regardless of their fighting style in fights with very little rules. People had already being mixing styles for decades before the UFC, perhaps not in the USA.

All the Gracies did was to bring Vale Tudo to the USA (under the name of UFC) realizing that the USA was the best marketing launching pad for their BJJ.

Of course, BJJ is a great style and I have nothing against it. But people need to get their history right and give credit where credit is due.

They are similar, but not the same. Muay Boran is the original way of thai boxing. Muay Thai is the modified version because Boran techneques were to deadly for boxing matches.

Muay Thai uses a lot of clinchwork or stand-up neck wrestling techniques. Muay Thai Boran does not and has a lot of unconventional maneuvers that involve breaking limbs or stepping on the opponent's thigh to deliver a strike. Also, the stance is lower and the hands are in different positions in Muay Boran. The overly popular modern day sport version of Muay Thai uses a lot of the punches found in international boxing.
