I just got this game and am trying to play it.

I can get into the game menu and everything works fine, its only after i start to play the game (after the brefing screen) that i get problems.

and by problems i mean that the screen goes black, i can hear characters talking and myself walking about but i cannot see anything, only strange lights and shapes as i move about.

@milfermon21 It was meant to be. All three movies were based upon three major conflicts of the 20th century. 1st movie World War 2, 2nd Movie Korean War, 3rd Movie Vietnam, it makes sense and i enjoyed it as it shows how ideologies can sometimes be more powerful than the biggest gun/tank/bomb.

@alphamax03 radiation poisoning isn't as deadly as its made out to be. The radiation comes from the fallout (which is the material which essentially snows down from the sky afterwards) and there are various medications which can be taken to offset the effects. Medications which we have today, and I'm sure that space marines attempting to wage war against a race of mutant bugs would certainly have.
