Rivers looks really embarrassed to be talking about this stuff. His discomfort is palpable.....also Rivers should have renamed the band when he came back without Matt. That band should have been called "Our Music Sucks Now"
I'm sure Weezer fans don't really care but when Rivers mentions the cartoonist Joe Matt, it's probably a "wink" at Sook-Yin Lee, the VJ, because she was going out with another cartoonist at the time, Chester Brown. Yeah.
you know, what rivers said almost sounds like me. so far i know like almost every song of theirs on guitar, but like he sed not with girls at that era, ryte now, i am like very lonely, not even talked to, only friend is like....a person from school, but we dont talk much
I actually thought she did a great job. Man, Rivers seemed depressed...Is that an act you think? Matt Sharp seemed to take some jabs at Rivers, I wonder if things were starting to unravel here. There's definitely some tension.

what the fuck is this bitch asking? She's asking the most obvious questions and the most uninteresting. I bet this interview job is her own business because nobody in their right minds would hire an interviewer this annoying. Ugh man "Do ALL your songs start off with an acoustic guitar then you just add in the electric?" like damn listen to the music and you'll understand!
well....there are a few phases of emo, 90's (emo's second stage) emo incorporates weezer's pinkerton, sunny day realestate, fugazi.....among others, hell emo at one time somewhat included minor threat
@enthnd03 Are you being sarcastic???..."emo at one time somewhat included minor threat"????...seriously?? You obviously weren't around during that time buddy nor have you ever listened to Minor Threat. The only thing Fugazi and Minor Threat have that is even remotely considered to be "emo" is Ian being in Embrace and Guy being in Rites of Spring. The term "emo" is so irrelevant now anyway and it's a joke to be using it.
think of it in the terms of republicans, at one time it meant something else, including different political views; emo at different points in time had different definitions, at a time it was some like hardcore punk, then it turned to what the 90's had, and now the term has evolved into this word with such a huge stigma attached to it.....besides i was commenting on what someone asked which was "is weezer considered emo?"
@enthnd03 You are not getting the point and obviously you weren't old enough to know what it was like back in the day. NO ONE..I repeat...NO ONE considered Weezer "emo" during any point when they recorded their first two albums. You totally proved that you don't know what you're talking about when you try to include Minor Threat in any conversation with emo. It's easy to make up genres after the fact but you are totally out of context if you weren't in the scene when it was happening.
@greatestxgift yeah, i don't think you know what you're talking about, because enthnd03 is completely right, emo used to hardcore punk, and minor threat was somewhat emo, going by what emo meant in the early 80s when minor threat started. for some reason, greatestxgift, i have a feeling that enthnd03 is older than you, and that you obviously weren't in the scene when it was happening
@dogbert3002 Are you seriously this ignorant and stupid? One more time...NO ONE...and I mean NO ONE ever called Minor Threat "emo" when they were a band and it was not even a word until after they broke up. The only "emo" thing that is related to Minor Threat is Ian MacKaye starting Embrace after MT's break up and it was one of the first so called "emo" bands like I stated already. These genre arguments are so misguided but to say Minor Threat is emo is ridiculous and absolutely ignorant.
@dogbert3002 If you have no idea what you're talking then please refrain from perpetuating misinformation on public forums as it just makes you look foolish.
@dogbert3002 Do you understand how clueless you come off as? First off, you stated that "emo" used to be hardcore punk so was Bad Brains and Black Flag "emo" too? Second of all, you stated that "emo" was a term when Minor Threat started and it is a FACT that that term wasn't coined until after MT broke up. Ian MacKaye was disgusted by that word and scoffed at the term when it was used to describe post-MT band Embrace and Rites of Spring. Please stop embarrsasing yourself.
@dogbert3002 It's completely ironic and hilarious that you're calling me a moron when you're the biggest moron of them all for thinking Minor Threat is "emo" and when you've exposed yourself as someone who seriously has no idea what they're talking about.
@greatestxgift man shut the fuck up, who cares if some people consider minor threat or weezer emo, does that change the music?? no. who cares what they are, if you like them you like them. quit getting offended when someong considers a band emo.
@nocontrol06 man shut the fuck up, who cares if some people consider minor threat or weezer not emo, does that change the music?? no. who cares what they aren't, if you like them you like them, quit getting offended when someone considers a band not emo.

Really? You don't think these questions are interesting? I was kind of impressed that she actually asked about some of the deeper meaning to the songs and the album as a whole. I'm not trying to naysay to you here, I'm just genuinely curious; what would you have preferred?
Yeah, she couldn't have asked more interesting questions as far as I can see. Rivers just snubbed them and shooed them off, ONCE AGAIN, for no bloody reason. Frustrating. See the 'rapix fax' segment for his actual answers to them.
