I must admit that I really like your humor and your method to teach! So keep up the good work and thank you very much for your effort you putting in to this! Greetings Rik from Holland :P
Since I learned the Greek alphabet on my own, I noticed the striking similarities between that and Cyrillic. But not surprising since the Bulgarian alphabet was invented by two monkeys from Thessaloniki.
Yea when I learned Spanish i could not roll my r's for anything...but I just kept trying and eventually I got it. No idea how, just persistence I guess. The same way I learned to whistle. If you can do it once or twice you are on the right track :)
guess what? I just got it with the help of his Rs video :) it is sort of tiring and forced and I exhale really hard, but i got it! Now to add the R sound to the roll.......
I am working on studying in Russia, and trying to learn this language is trying at times. These videos, however, are awesome. Well informative, and funny!!
Thank you so much for your videos! I am slowly trying to teach myself some Russian.
I have one request, could you make a video showing the correct way to write the Russian alphabet on a piece of paper. Also, is there different writing styles in Russian? In English, there is normal English writing, and cursive English writing.
Thank you again for helping people discover the Russian culture!
hi, in serbian the letter "B" is always pronounced "B"(=V). I wondered if it was also the case in russian, because sometimes it seems to me that I hear "F" or "Ф", perticularly on name endings... For instance is it HuliganoV or HuliganoFFFF ?
Good question. In Russian, as in Polish, voiced plosive and fricative consonants lose their voiced quality at the ends of words. However, when followed by other words in a vowel or in a voiced consonant, this may often not happen. So you can hear "Govorit Huliganoff" but Huliganov govorit if the words are elided. If pronounced more separately you'll hear "Huliganoff govorit"
Im from UK, cant find lessons anwhere unless i went to University which i cant afford. Im fascinated by Russia and want to learn all that i can. Thankyou so much for making this acheivable .
You are the best youtube user in all of the world! I'm learning Russian right now and going through your lessons for further review, and I learn little things along the way. You are a big help and have excellent jokes, although I would like to hear them pa russki.
Greetings from Finland! I never understood why we don't learn russian in school since russia is our most important neighbor... So that's why I'm learning it now :-) Thanks for these great lessons, they really make it easier to learn. Great jokes by the way :D
Thanks for that. By the way, keep watching - I'm due to be in Helsinki on 30th November - there should be a Helsinki film up sometime in December, all being well.
You are an amazing man. Where I live, there are many Russian immigrants. (One of them I love by the way, I hope to marry her one day) But, I wish to be kind to them and learn the language. You are in my prayers. God speed.
ahhh mannnn thanks for giving a way the ending to the book and the game.haha j/k i don't really care i gave up on the game any ways.keep up the good work.and try to smile more :)
Watching the whole series again after lesson 5. Brilliant! Picking up on little gems that can be missed on first viewing. Would like more Russian folk duets like Katyusha. Song of the Plains maybe...or the one about the rude boatmen.
