@1kydde2 I disagree somewhat, i think the genuine desire should come first to write and/or perform music and then think about the finance. I hate this mentality 'Oh i should earn more than a doctor because I WROTE A SONG!!!'
Why buy tracks from you're favourite artists, when you can get it for free online!? :)
Youtube down-loader is the best(IMO)
Albums really don't sell these days, that's why most Music "Artists" have allot of advert deals. They make up the revenue they loose from low music sales.
people are forgetting 1000 years ago people didn't pay to enjoy other people talent, talent is something given to one, not worked for why should you get payed for something you don't work for
@oblivion234brown Where did you get that idea? Music is just one skilled occupation among many. 1000 years ago, if a medieval king wanted to hear some music, he would hire some musicians to play it. The Church paid for its music to be composed and sung. Furthermore, talent alone will get you nowhere. Musicians work hard (and spend a lot of money) to learn their craft.
this guy has got the power of statistics behind him, but he's got the wrong conclusion that the record companies have to fight the online method that relatively unknown artistes follow...oh man oh man...it's not the cds that are gg to phase out, it's people and executives like them who are fighting against technology and connectivity...
Music is moving towards free distribution whether or not artists like it. The "unknown" artists that he's talking about ARE gaining ground thanks to the internet. Listen to the Decemberists talk about how they wouldn't be NEARLY as popular without widespread music piracy. He says the odds are long against unknowns breaking into any form of the mainstream without traditional relationships with record companies, but the odds are also growing ever longer these days that you'll get signed.
You don’t get to destroy the internet because it doesn’t fit your business model.
Fuck IFPI and fuck SOPA.

Call me crazy but, I agree with Kennedy. As a musician myself, it is hard to put your heart and soul into your music to have it stolen.
