  • love this band saw them when they still had two guitarist,,nothing personal her husband neil geraldo doesn't need another guitar onstage, he played so precise, didn't miss. bb

  • Love the lyrics. "Moving in for the kill tonight", which describes my dating skills. The thrill of the hunt and the chase outweigh the end result, as a result I move on to the next chick

  • Interestingly enough, those lyrics also aptly describe the dating skills of Edmund Kemper.

When I see a pretty girl walking down the street, I think two things: One part of me wants to take her home, be real nice and treat her right; the other part wonders what her head would look like on a stick." Edmund Kemper III

  • Don't let a cougar get ahold of you man.

  • As much as I love Invinceable, HeartBreaker, and Painted Desert...this is my all time favorite song from Patty. The passion she puts behind this song is just unreal. Plus Spider just takes it to the next level with the blazing solo, incredible.

  • Pat and Ann are the finest rock singers of all time! The difference with the two is Benatar was trained to sing Opera. And can hit a few higher notes than Ann.

Both are truly in a class no one else can even touch!!

  • pure rock

    nice....

  • what a voice.....i remember thinking as a young kid that she was always mad at something......lol

  • They just don't build them like they used to! Pat B. One of the great female rock voices of ALL TIMES.

  • @Webzilla true Ann wilson is also amazing!!!

  • dam this women can wail!

  • queen of rock! the one and only by far

  • i saw her in Deep Ellem in Dallas. There isnt a singer around today who will ever hold a candle to this super talent, nor will there be another with her longivity or one so respected. You can tell she and Neil love what they are doing. ROCK ICONS

PAT YOU AND NEIL ARE WHAT OTHERS STRIVE TO BE -ROCK ON!!! AND THANKS FOR STAYING OUT THERE.

  • I'll say it once more... The 100lbs LADY with the 1000lbs VOICE!!!!! She is amazing, where is the rock n roll HOF??? If this pioneer isn't inducted soon what good is the HOF?????????????

  • The greatest rock voice.

  • Our ECU Pirates Hockey Team of the '80s always played this song in practice. Always got us pumped. Pat was (is) HOT

  • she always looks as if shes getting off on teh music

  • in Every way!!! this song rocks and she is SMokin Hot and Xtremely-talented!

  • Queen Pat, unique, powerfull, sexy, deep and forever¡

You have lots of fans here in Mexico City since 1980.

  • Niel was the best IMO

  • この歌好き

  • Such a powerful voice, sends shivers up and down the spine.Such a badass lady.

  • NICELY SAID!!!! Truly .....a badass.

  • Damn, she's good.

  • She's a Zeta Phi Beta

  • Pat Benatar Pwns Dio.....I will be killed tomm morning..Bye

  • ronnie james dio and pat benatar ...brother and sister?

  • hmmmm not likely...

  • NO. DIO & "Carla" from Cheers = brother & sister...

  • This is one sexy sexy lady with a fabulous strong and powerful voice. I have been in love with her and her music since I was a young boy and I am 45 now. I Love u Pat u so ROck sweetheart!

  • Comment removed

  • Is this video from the concert film she made around the Live From Earth recordings? I used to have that video.

  • ONE....HOT...WOMAN!!!!

  • innamorata you have nothing to prove here if that moron refuses to belive what your say that his/her problem and carcosa wtf? thats all i have to say wtf?

  • There's nothing wrong with you thinking someone's gay. Just don't fucking go spreading that shit around like it's fact. Pat Benatar is no dkye and she's no Brasilian, if that's implied. Google her a read up on her otherwise go listen to Miley.

  • I love her voice

  • for (so many now) years she's my favourite female rock singer, definitely!!

  • A lot of her songs (like this one) are double entendres about cocaine. She was a HUGE cokehead in the 80s.

  • and you would know carcosa ... go flame some one else ....

  • Uh... do you have any idea what was going on in the music industry in the 1980s? A lot of nose candy was sniffed. And, uh, Benatar didn't just sniff it, from what I understand, but I won't go into that.

Sorry you got all weewee'd out about it.

  • Hey Carcosa, what actual proof do you have of Benatar being a HUGE cokehead in the eighties? She's always said she loves to sing Rock n Roll, but never lived the life of a rock star. She's very family oriented and if she reads your comment, I'd wish that she would sue you into bankrupcy!! Your a looser!!

  • "Your a looser!!" < Oh, the irony. It burns.

Apparently you don't know what a "Pat Benatar" is and how it got its name.

  • THANK YOU.

  • Jewishvegan you are a twisted ignorant idiot ,,, first we don't have expatriated US Citizens in your US dependent miserable country of Israel,,, Pat benatar is not lesbian she is one of the few dignified family oriented rock and roll artist that had kept a line of decency in her entire life together with her Christian family,,, lern before you say something stupid.

    E.B.

  • absolutely classic! Great performance, fantastic voice! Thanks for posting!!!

  • exelente , mamita

  • Pat wasand still is a hotty if ya ask me. I like her husbands guitar too. Neil Geraldo fucking wails too!

  • I like Pat's tight pants.

  • I used to request to hand picked strippers that they perform to this on stage; and, of course, I would tip them extra, since it was a special request. And then the club DJ decided he liked this song, too; so he asked me to give my CD to him. I dared not refuse the club DJ, because he was a powerful and influential person.

  • I love this song sine the 80's when I was young!!!

Here in Brasil we have no information about Pat....

  • Was pat benatar well known in Brasil?

  • I have no idea of Benatar was known is Brasil. Do you live there? If so, then maybe you should know??

  • If i lived in Brasil, then I would be able to know. I don't which is why I asked. I am in Israel.

She is known in Israel by mostly expats from the states.

I would say she is big in the lesbian community though. I saw her photo in an ad in an Israeli lesbian ad.

She is a pretty lesbian. Not like that Rosie O'Donnell person.

  • Hey JewishVega,

    Benatar isn't a Lesbian!!!

  • Pat's Married to Neil Geraldo, the guitarist.

  • Do you make these things up as you go along or is it your spontanious sence of humor? Just like carcosa.....cocaine?.....you two should sit together and play the record backwards.

  • what is inately wrong with thinking someone is gay or lesbain?

you have deep seeded hatred of others.

if shes not lesbeing, then i am sure she wouldn't care if someone thought she was....if she is lesbeing then good for her.

  • thats her husband on guitar......they are still married to this day...some 25+ years later

  • This is the best Pat Benatar song.

I also like shadows of the night and we live for love.

    80's forever the dj

  • great taste but shadows is better to me and a great video.lol all fired up is awsome to.

  • she was a looker back then yepers

  • She still is!!!

  • "you slayed me" Haven't heard that expression in about 15 years. Reminds me of friends back in good ol Saskatchewan. And yes I agree with Gerkinstock. Pat is a hottie though.

  • Yes, I think she's a hottie, too. Didn't mean it in a derogatory sense at all, it's actually quite sexy.

  • Her voice is very sexy. Like the way she adds that little emphasis at the end of a few lines. A good example is between 1:15 and 1:26. It's hot.

  • She also moves back and forth like she has a penis when she's singing.

  • Gerkinstock, thats the funniest thing Ive read in a long time. Man you slayed me with that one.

  • AMEN!!! I prefer rocker men! But Pat Benetar is the original rocker chick! lol Well Heart too but she is like this little dynamite! lol I love her.

  • Joan Jett?

  • Oh yeah Joan Jett is great. Heart is good. I just prefer MALE rockers! lol However I just loved Pat Benetar's singing and the way she sang these great songs like Yeah I like you if you mess with me I am going to hurt you attitude!

  • I go back and forth between male and female depending on the mood. I love Pat alot but I was refering to your comment about Pat being the original rocker chick. Joan had years on her.

  • yea joan is great but when she started with the runaways pat was on her own.joan has some of the best stuff with lita but pat and even laura branigan are great to.

  • The Runaways started in '75, Benatar started in '78. Benatar's first album was released in '79, not far after The Runaways. The Runaways had no real success. Joan and Lita had some success after the break up.

  • Such a smooth song. Stood the test of time didn't it? Still bad ass today just like 1982.

  • :o-----------

  • I saw all her concerts in the 80's and she was the only singer I ever saw who's voice sounded as good as the recording. She was a trained opera singer and it showed when she was live. No need for any studio tricks. She was perfection in concert

  • She looked great in pantyhose, too.

  • Zen31999-

Ann Wilson has a awesome voice and is second behind Benatar.

Benatar has more of a range than Wilson. Ann could not do the range of Heartbreaker, Wuthering Heights or Don't let it show. Ann good, but not as good!

  • The best, that's all I can say! Brings me back to my 19 year old self. So great !!!

  • Mann I love this song the bass grove is amazing

  • Favorite Pat Benatar song! Wish I could've seen her at the Trop. Bet it was a good show!

  • lol i second that haro82

  • Man this brings back memories! My first crush as a kid! haha

  • Just saw her last Saturday at tropicana in Tampa. I was blown away. I can't believe I didn't see her in the early 80s when I was tear'n up the concert halls. Definate queen of rock-n-roll.

  • i was there too in center field at the trop, she still sounds great

  • Have to agree w many of the comments - for pure rock Pat is #1. Hard to compare Joss or Janis or Joni, really different genres. Wilson, Hynde, Nicks and Lee are awesome, but Pat at her peak was untouchable. Benatar is not in the R&R Hall of Fame. What a joke.

  • Yep. The labels are pissed because she plays for fun. Not all marginal keeping at recording like some kind of lemming. She knows she doesn't have to record and it just eats the suits alive. That's why they haven't offered. They didn't give Ozzy any love until he came out of retirement and did the Ozzfest for 10 years and let management sell their whole family down the river to MTV. If not for the fans like yours truly, they would've been the preliminary Hogan Knows Best scandal. You rock, Pat!

  • pat is a god!!!! Queen of rock forever!!!!!!!!

  • great stuff ...love PB...Nobody is mentioning Anne Wilson in this please go watch Hearts Midnight Special vids....Anne can't go as high as pb but who can...anne has more range.

  • just saw Pat Benator at the Tropicana field after saturdays Rays/marlins 6-27-09game. She still sounds awsome, I was on the field close to the stage and she just rocks

    Tampa Fl

  • Joss Stone is hot for sure but no female rocker to date she a voice like Pat Benatar.

She was born to sing rock. And she does rock!

Now think of Britney Spears trying to sing anything and you'll have a good laugh.

  • Jill Gioia is good, but doesn't rank close to Pat Benatar! Now Lita Ford, comes a close 2nd to Pat, in my opinion, especially considering shes the Guitarist too. But No One matches Pat's Vocals! Another 'newcomer' to watch is Dilana, but she has a totally different vocal style. ~ Knight

  • Yeah, Dilana is amazing. It's too bad she does a lot of pop, but hey, she rocks whatever she sings.

  • If there is a Valhalla for musicians, Pat & Neil will be at the gate someday asking "What the fuck have you done?"

  • she is so underrated!

  • Most consider her the last great female rock star. So sexy, strong and feminine. It's a sweet package lol.

  • Great Song!....yes Amy Lee comes close....we need more female Rockers!

  • Pat Benatar has one of the best voices for a female rocker. Since she has opera training

  • How great was she?! Yikes. Nobody like this around today. Maybe Joss Stone, Amy Lee come close.

  • Guitar player and singer are husband and wife guys,,,, top artist no match to todays lousy standards. E.B.

  • Now this is what real music is, and it's live. This is better than 90% of the studio recorded songs now days.

  • Lots of hot sexy rocker ladies come from LI Pat Benetar and Jill Gioia This is the hottest song to dance to when you want to get 'busy'

  • She has the BEST rock voice, hands down. I wish her the best, always. The guitarist does act like a fat-head, when you guitar-sync, it's easy to do.

  • I think he wrote a lot of her songs. Dude is her husband and she's his muse. She's probably the last rock goddess. Amy Lee is good, but she's not Pat Benatar. Pat Benatar's vocals give me a chill up the spine in a good way.

  • great song, but that guitar player gets way to into his solo

  • i love this song!!!!!!!!!

  • great assssssssss

  • It certainly matches her voice.

  • Im 23 and i remember my uncle givin me this tape when i was about 7 and I LOVED HER MUSIC FROM THE MOMENT I HEARD IT

  • did you guys know that she was from long island b4 becoming a rock star , shes rocks and love her songs

  • miss this stuff

  • Pat Benatar is amazing!!!

  • thanx for posting this ..i love love love this song !!!

  • Benatar ...nuff said.

  • Cheap Trick - The Flame yeah ..... See the Light as clear as the reflectction of the rainbowed prism - cleanse ur soul .

  • The best Pat Benatar song period!

  • WHAT A WOMAN!

  • What does she mean when she sings "when they" turn out the lights????

  • Benatar and Spider forever

  • These young chicks can never sing like Pat. Lady GaGa is cool but she is no Pat Benatar. Aguilera is cool as long as she can control her voice and not oversing everything.

  • Aguilera over sings her songs. She needs more contol in her voice. Pat has a powerful voice and knows exactly what she is doing. That's one rockin bitch. Love this song when it came out in 1981. I bought the album immediately.

  • who does NOT know how to get all that are in sterio to become it?? simple..add &fmt=18 exatcally like that ath the end of address line & restart..enjoy & pass this on thanx

  • your definatly right

  • Pat F-ing rocks!!!! :-)>

  • This woman, along with Joan Jett an' Lita Ford were the Queens of Hard Rock. How in the hell could they ebb ova time?I've Pat's songs o'the '90's an' I gotta say they weren't outdated. She stays fresh.

  • omg u r so rite...

  • Another one for the best song ever from pat hannah who dude don't ever comp that to a lcon like pat that's a slap in the face she will never ever be a pat benatar and no i don't think so !!!!*

  • 3 of the best damn female Rockers Pat Benatar,Joan Jett,Lita Ford

  • I dated this little Irish girl in NY that looked, and dressed just like Pat . . . Too bad her attitude didn't match!

  • I have seen her twice in concert (1 from about 8 feet away) and there are only 3 others that i have seen that can come as close as Pat does to reproducing on stage what she does in the studio, Cyndi Lauper,Linda Rondstat and Ann Wilson. The power, passion and heart that she displays on stage is staggering. Yes, she is beautiful but if that is all you see, you are missing what is really important, "her voice" I wish we had more voices like this in the world, what a place it would be.

  • I agree!!! with all that you stated. Martina is the only one you left out.

  • Pat Benatar learned to sing with Opera and it shows.

  • Love that little squeal she gives at the end of each verse.

  • I'd like to see Hannah Montanah pull this shit off. I don't think so!

  • Def Pats best song, I love it

  • The first singer who was/is a true soprano..Thank You ,Pat for bringing the sopranos out of the choir & into Hard Rock!

  • Actually she's a mezzo-soprano with an amazin' range an' opera trainin'.

  • the band is incredible....and pat benatar and neil gerardo ...man thats a great combo

  • man, that chick just served every diva since then their asses with that shit. she has got to be one of the best female vocalists of all time. thank god she found rock.

  • Yep, and thats when mics still had a wire hanging out the back.

  • and no Antares auto-tune to make the singers sound as if they could hit the pitches. Man, I haven't heard this one in 10 years and she really did hand all the Britneys and Aguileras and Pinks and Lady GaGas and ALL of those commodities their asses on a platter with this one. Man, no way they could duplicate that. Like Dio. His voice ruled metal because it just sounded so incredible.

  • Aguilera actually had a big voice.

Lady Gaga's whole thing isn't her voice, it's her interpretation- her unique visuals. It's something for my generation that comes from Japanese visual Kei. Lady Gaga is a Janelle Monae rip off anyway.

  • I think Aguilera can sing well enough but I am not fond of the spastic inflections she uses trying to sound black. Just me I guess. I'd prefer to listen to the real deal myself.

  • what is wrong with the ril metal and not the emo crap i miss this kind of rook like Pat Benatar Metallica kiss and meatloaf it makes me want to kill the fuckers

  • you say justin timberlake i say dimebag darrel

You say Zac I say Slipknot!

You say pink I say black!

You say Michael Jackson I say.....wtf....

You say Flo Rider I say KoRn

92% of teens now like pop and rap.

If YOU are still the 8% who likes metal copy and paste

anything rock = a big HELL YEA for me

  • Metal is dead in the US, but it has been huge in Europe over the past decade. Lacuna Coil, Epica, Nightwish, Within Temptation (earlier CDs), Sirenia, etc. I'm just listing the metal bands with female lead singers because dudes don't do it for me. ;)

  • Man, I wish I was around back when this music is what was on the radio. You have Led Zeppelin, Pat Benetar, Ac/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith and all the other great bands, compared to todays music consisting of Akon,50 cent, Lil wayne, etc. Makes me sad writing that :P

  • When 3 former Mouseketeers - Justin, Britney, and Christina - top the music charts, followed by American Idol winners, it's sad. There were so many music shows on TV too - Solid Gold, King Biscuit Flower Hour, Friday's, ABC in Concert. I know there was bad music too in the late 70s and 80s, but there was so much variety. You had heavy metal, new wave, pop, disco, and rock. Now, it's just one flavor.

  • Well let me say I was a young man then 26 yrs old. I drove a Trans-Am TA 6.6, every girl I dated tried to look like Pat Benatar. Good time to be young. What a time it was!! Best song she ever did.

  • Pat is one of the greatest female singers of all time!!! Voice that won't quit. Fabulous song too.

  • OMG I had the same jumper & red belt that she has on!! Those were the days, I can't believe most of us made it through it!! My husband still has his turn table (not the same one) and around 500 LPS to go with it, he even has this LP!! Everyone of them sound great too!!

  • Great song, Where is she now? Why not continue with the great music, I sure miss the music of the 70s and 80s. Im still collecting all of the good music no matter what century we live in!

  • Lord Have Mercy!!!!

  • Pat is incredible, but does this sound like she's lip-syncing to anyone else?

  • no think it sounds like it because its live. the song too is very hard on the thoat. peace zeena

  • This was the music video for the song that was played on MTV. She's not lip-syncing during the concert where they shot it, but they probably put the studio version audio over the concert footage. She doesn't need to lip-sync, and she can pretty much re-create anything she does in the studio unlike today's singers which are mostly dancers/performers.

  • my kind of camel mmm hmmm

  • Pat Benatar- where to start? your powerful voice that slices thru the ear and into the heart to infuse whatever emotion you want the listener to feel! Insane power- glad you are an american! Thank you for all the pleasure you gave this 80's brat thru your music and videos. Fire and Ice is a tie for number one along side Hell is for Children. Keep Rocking Baby!

  • I remeber buying the album just for this song,It sat in my car out in the hot sun too long before I got it home and got warped and couldn't play it unless I pressed down on the needle with my finger while the album spun around on the turntable.

Thank God for Youtube so that I don't have to deal with that issue while listening to this over and over.

  • Oh boy i hate to hear that i can relate i bet it was bad, But you know i still put one of those LP things on now and then just to listen to the pops and crackles those were the days.

  • greatness!

  • Decadence is like a bulldozer, taking down everything in it's way. We live in what I have coined "limitless vulgarity".

It is manifested in so many parts of our lives here in the states. At least we have the memories. ( When harmony and voice mattered and the Pat Benatar's of the world were on top.) Look who's on top now! People whose names you'll forget in a matter of 5 years or less.

"Fire & Ice" came out 25 years ago!

    I rest my case

  • I think you said it all JUST GREAT

Hit the nail on the head

  • Awesome!

  • I love Pat Benatar!

    She rocks!

  • 1 word.

    1 syllable

    1 meaning

    WOW.

  • I agree.....kickass song

  • The best song she ever made. IMO

  • Definite shes the best rock Singer with her Unique Style!!

It is just missing a Tour to Brazil

  • I love this!!

  • What a voice! The so called female singers these days should look to class acts like Benatar and Heart rather than crap like American Idol.

  • And she did it without computer enhancement.

  • I will add that it's not changed a bit since the last comment I made. She's still one of the all time best, but I saw one comment about her and Ann Wilson, absolutely a great idea. ANY new innovations are always welcome, as I said todays a different world than then, it's harder to make it now than ever, and that was a unique period in music history, I think now it's a mistake to compare anything to then as nothing exists like what was back then, exempting those that are still going from then.

  • Such vocals! It makes me mad as hell that she's ebbed ova time. This woman got 'nuff fire t'last us into the 25th Century.

  • To LunaticFringe40,real boobs feel much better than implants.Natural women, big and small, make the world go round...

  • She was awesome.

Too bad they didn't have breast implants back then. She would have beeen even hotter then she was.

  • you need implants in your brains, Benatar is a great rock singer not a whore, she doenst need silicone.
