saying this match is for the world wrestling federation championship ... its way way better and prestigious than saying this match is for the wwe heavyweight championchip... WWE just sucks cocks WWF was the real deal
@UltimateWarrior206 Know how you feel i remember after the night was over i had lost my voice from screaming and shouting so much i remember trying to talk about things that happened in the car on the way home and i couldn't my parents laughed so much.
@UltimateWarrior206 i was there to 9 yrs old and this was the match that made it for me....classic match, great night and some of the entrances where awes.ome
Their WrestleMania match was incredible. It was a real testament to how well Randy could choreograph matches, even with bad wrestlers like Warrior. Hell, he managed to make Warrior look so good that Dave Meltzer had that WM match at over four stars. I really didn't like the finish since it buried Savage so bad, but it was his idea apparently and he def. knew best, having several of the best WWF matches in history. WM3 Steamboat-Savage will always be legendary, though it pissed Vince off.
@MrPerfect0011 I couldn't agree more! And in mine, the Sega Genesis game "Royal Rumble" would have had the 1992 roster, not the 1993. 92' is when I started watching and nothing else can ever compare, for me.
LOL, "Maybe we'll see a scientific match?" That was a very PWI term to use regarding two babyfaces matching up. Remember terms like that fondly from my 1980s mark days.
@21richkid You know Ive been a WWF/E Fan since 1990 and I still enjoy it as much today as I did back when I was kid. Its not as bad some make it out to be, they are getting back to towing the line again since the CM Punk saga began.
I was 10 years old!!...Wow man I miss the 90s and the old school WWF days I remember watching Superstars on Saturdays...this is a classic no matter what anybody says about Warrior or Macho Man...good times...
Looks like this was a first PPV for a lot of guys... this was my first PPV I got to watch live (via PPV). My favorite match at the time was Taker vs Kamala. These days I much prefer Hart vs Bulldog, but in both cases this was my 2nd favorite match. Awesome card they had here. Also loved Legion of Doom vs Money Inc.
According to the Ultimate Warrior, he and the Macho Man together drank 5 gallons of coffee prior to this match to see who could become the most crazy.
always epic matches between savage and the ultimate warrior, but after his faceturn savage was dressed like a clown, not as an champion..
warrior is hall of famer in the heart of his fans,he will be for ever the man who beats fool hogan in the middle of the ring, thank u for todays wrestling vince you morone
TO THOSE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PG FORMAT OF WWE TODAY.....................YOU ALL WERE THE DEMOGRAPHICS THAT STOPPED WATCHING WWE CAUSING THE FORMAT TO BECOME KID-FRIENDLY. THIS HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS AND SOME KINDA OF AGENDA.
The last great cash machine character in WWE was Stone Cold Steve Austin. When he left, Vince started making a lot less money. You can thank Owen Hart for that. When he screwed up a pile driver on Stone Cold and nearly broke his neck. Owen ended up dying in a tragic accident, or at least they say it was an accident when his strap broke during an unusual aerial entry to the ring for Owen. The characters today suck and it shows in the lower attendance and lower pay per view ratings.
one thing i loved about wrestling back in the day compared to the wrestling..they were willing to have two super faces (see hogan-warrior) face each other, rather than always the heel-face matchup that happens almost all the time today. to me, i feel like the face vs face can be great, and adds alot of excitement to the match, because the crowd takes almost equal liking to both wrestlers and are just looking for a great match. im kinda rambling..but hopefully that makes sense?
@musicmaniac1982 Actually it was a few days after Summerslam at a TV taping, the match wasn't all that good as Savage was selling the injury from Summerslam and they had to redo it twice at the taping because it was so bad.

Like you MeBassman I was also there. In fact the kid on his dads shoulders in the grey hulkamania jumper at 1.24-26 is me. Really weird looking at it and I have to pinch myself that I was there and front row. Summerslam 92 is still one of the best Summerslams ever. you know back in the days when Summerslam was a huge event and not just another PPV...
UW vs Macho man was at least on par with the main event of Bret Hart vs British Bulldog. Great rivalrys dont seem to happen like these anymore
i was there !!! 9 years of age.... Parents bought me a legion of doom body suit with spikes, complete with wrist spikes.... i remember going on the subway afterwards through London... the looks i was getting from people... happy days! ... i was the perfect age for wrestling, when it was actually well done, and could pass for being real to kids, no over the top soap opera antics, though the Papa Shango/Warrior feud was brilliant as a kid. it isnt half shit now! :P lol
@mrbassman25 COuldn't have said it better. You and I must be the same age. I loved this period for wrestling. It was almost inspiring in a way for me...Unfortunately now wrestling has christened itself as "entertainment"...This this took place the business hasn't been the same and probably never will be.
yeah we were lucky to be brought up in the time we did for wrestling, at its worldwide peak just before the big dip. People talk of the 'attitude' era being the best, mostly because they were brought up later in life watching it. But these old characters were just fantastic, Mr Perfect, Warrior, Macho, Jake Roberts, L.O.D..
All the attitude era gave us was swearing and naked women. . . nothing compared to the late 80's early 90's of WWF , i still actually call it WWF lol
@mrbassman25 The sad thing is that as a kid you are raised to cheer for the "good guys". Only now do I appreciate how good and talented a lot of the heels were....Like Mr.Perfect and Owen Hart. Excellent on the mic and their in ring talent was tremendous. I am thankful for youtube because I am able to see all these guys and get another opportunity to appreciate them
yeah i couldnt agree more with that. although the very odd exeption, Bret Hart... when he turned heel i still loved him, just because i always rooted for him in past i guess... at Wembley stadium 80% of people it seemed cheered on the Bulldog.... i was bret hart all the way. always hated Macho Man too... always loved The model Rick Martel and Razor Ramon, but thats the lot i think.
i hated Mr Perfect with a passion as a kid, but no one has impressed me more than him, looking back now.
One of the reason why I will always adore the WWF during the 80s and 90s (discounting the New Generation era until 1997 when their product was getting better). They had CHARACTERS behind the wrestlers which took them years to perfect or improve. Nowadays, they think either putting a belt on a green guy (Heath Slater and Wade Barrett) will get them over.
None of these characters can connect to the fans since they have nothing on them to connect with. If you get what I mean.
Yeah but the Attitude era had depth too. It was a necessary evil, If they had continued with this cartoony stuff which was fine 1984-92 but people were fed up of it 1993-96, the WWF would have gone out of business.
The Attitude era borrowed from Trash TV but the results were satisfying. Byrates were higher than they had been, They were winning back the Adult Male Audience (who has all but vaninshed now) and the non-wrestling viewer. In the AE,Rooting for the Heel was common.
@Hulk2k6 from 93-96 were probably the worst years in wwf history. It was not so much that things were still cartooning and gimmicky, it was the gimmicks were terrible, (manatar, the goon, etc. )
@hamanu666 techno-team 2000? don't recall that. I actually kind of liked the repo man. Granted it could have been a little bit better. But I still think Barry Darsow deserves some credit for working with the direction he was given. On another note, two gimmicks (I think were both just a couple years before this) that didn't pan out because of exterior factors were Waylon Mercy (Dan Spivey), and The Widow Maker (Barry Windham)
@mrbassman25 Dude, I had the LOD suit too! Red and black foam rubber right?! I was the same age. Golden era right here for sure. I NEVER watched it once it turned WWE. You're so lucky you got to see it live!
Tremendous costumes. This is when wrestling was fun.

It was not so much that things were still cartooning and gimmicky, it was the gimmicks were terrible, (manatar, the goon, etc. )

@MrMolmem Don't forget the repoman, baston booger(shudder) and techno-team 2000!

I literally have no memory of this match happening. To me, this whole event was Hart/Smith.
