  • Great list,.. i thought the order was strange. i.e to put films like the Shawshank Redemtion so far back in the list? But all the films you chose are brilliant.

  • Thank you, I do need something like this n my life to keep me occupied while I get better, Thank you very much, Peace, Dash

ps I like your state, very much

  • Gladiator, Planet of the apes, 300, Dark knight, any of the Jim Carrey early commedies (seems like are all your favorite comedy movies are Monty Python's?)

  • @tenktorypisze He also had some Charlie Chaplin and Dr. Strangelove.

  • @colinmcom14 And Woodie Allen.

  • Ah, i guess Titanic isnt a movie worth seeing according to this list. Oh not to mention the Dark Knight. And psssh, who needs inception right?

  • @RSshenanigans those don't really compare to most of the films on this list. And just because it's not in this guy's top 230 doesnt mean it's not worth seeing or it's not good

  • @RSshenanigans you must be mistaking this for a list of the most overrated movies of all time: titanic = cute; dark knight = fun but ultimately typical superhero movie; inception = fun popcorn flick designed to trick mainstream audiences into thinking they've watched something deep.

  • I would have some reservations about the order, but no doubt the list is remarkable and representative of the very best of the best. Here go some more suggestions:

    - Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (S. Kramer, 1967)

    - Peyton Place (M. Robson, 1957)

    - Duel (S. Spielberg, 1971)

    - THX 1138 (G. Lucas, 1971)

    - Paris, Texas (W. Wenders, 1984)

    - Die Ehe der Maria Braun (R.W. Fassbinder, 1979)

    - Mephisto (I. Szabó, 1981)

    - Koyaanisqatsi (G. Reggio, 1983)

    - Mary Poppins (R. Stevenson, 1964)

  • Barry Lyndon at #6

    I love you.

  • Well Done & thanks. I appreciate your mature comment and think you were savvy to ad that- keeps the chavs and nay-sayers in the wood works where they should remain lol. I really liked anew film I saw at the cinema- One Day. on't be fooled by your possible assumptions or chick flick stereotyping. It is a lovely film. It is also inspiring, affecting as good art should be, i believe.

  • 7 samurai at the top.. win

  • wish i cud also create such a video.

  • Amazing video. You clearly have a great taste for cinema, I felt that some were way too low and a few too high but you did include most of the films that i'd consider the true must-see films I think you could have even gone to 250 because there's some more I can think of that are as great and even greater then some of your choices on here

  • Anybody else notice that Easy Rider is actually Starsky and Hutch But amazing list Thanks a lot!

  • Check out my top 100 list. I've had trouble with Youtube, so it doesn't show up when you search.. I've had to advertise this way. Thanks

  • great list, u need more ingmar bergman on it tho.

  • I love that list though I`ve only seen about 50 of them. But some of my favs (oldboy, taxi driver, fight club, seven samurai...) are included. And ich looooove the soundtrack you choose!

  • annoying song to me but i like how theres 230 films instead of the 50 or 100 u see on other clips...

  • Seven Samurai, i noticed a few Kurosawa titles as i was watching and i knew you'd have that as no1, great choice.

  • the descreption is better than the video its not perfect but its as good as it usually gets, if your being realistic

  • @nenolik: OLDBOY for example?

  • Greatest list I have seen on the internet, and I am really glad you included some of Tarkvosky's work on this one. Stalker is one of my all time faveroites

  • is there any good movie above 1966 ?

  • Midnight Express ?

    Festen ?

    The Departed ?

    Requiem for a dream ?

    Usual Suspects ?

  • Great list. I've seen about 100 of those movies and agree on all of them (except Annie Hall, I didn't find that one particularly good), so I guess there's 130 movies I've got to watch now. :)

  • for the last 2 years i have been very enthusiastic about film and what it can do ever since i wached original king kong i loved the art in it

recently i watched this movie scarface (after hearing it hyped up so much)..and i asked my self why...is that really what people are looking for in a film a loud scum screaming F for 3 hours and the movie almost made him look like a hero (you whre suppust to care about thim)

    i dont get it

what is so specal about it are you really suppost to like him??

  • "Ohheeew, Goodfellas should be numba 1 sucka!!!

Seriously though, it might be a good idea to include the whole list in description, so people can't complain over movies that supposedly weren't there.

There are some movies I wonder weither or not they made it to the list, or I just missed them, such as "The Exorsist", "The Trasure of Sierra Madre", etc.

Otherwise an remarkable good list, my friend ;)

  • @thheNO Goodfellas #1?... surely you jest

  • @bilbob7624

Read the video's description, but to put it short, I was jesting :)

  • Pee Wee's Big Adventure...?

  • @CRAPCANNONS

Thanks for The Long Goodbye. It's a creative updating of Raymond Chandler's finest novel and has wonderful performances from a bunch of people, most notably Elliot Gould as Phillip Marlowe. Also remarkably good considering his lack of formal acting experience is Jim Bouton, the ex-Major League Baseball pitcher, who plays Marlowe's friend, Terry Lennox.
