  • Nice, but there are gaps for the commentary. Where can I hear the song with the commentary? I remember it was very uplifting......................with the commentary.

  • Wow! I didn't know that it has a video. Cool.

    Thanx

  • Who is the hot girl right at the end

  • I never knew that Midge Ure and Bob Geldof have a sense of humour. Only it is not very funny...cheesy even.

  • thanks for your comments

if no answer, is because I'm busy

    greetings

  • Have Fun Canada On Election Day. The Day After Victoria Day.

  • I first heard this on a radio show called Crap from the Past.

  • This is better than the original rule the world.

  • Not only was this for a great cause, but I was able to find a couple of versions of this song on a remix cd I own.

  • eh i dont understand.

i herd roland talking about somthing like this on my songs from the big chair VHS but i still confuesd completly

  • God bless Live Aid 1985.

    When pop music mattered!!!

  • I remember running this with my mates in Belfast...Ohh it feels like it was last week..I am now 41 and living in the US

  • 2:51 Sir peter ,great stuff ..COME ON !

  • this was actualy wrtten w/ Bob Geldof in mind, thinking he wanted to run everybody's musical careers. He got mad at tears for fears for not playing live aid 1985 and tears for fears wrote this as a joke.

  • Bollox

  • Actually - "...to get Bob Geldof off our backs! He gave us so much gip for not turning up at Live Aid. All those millions of people dying, it was our fault. I felt terrible. I tell you, I know how Hitler must have felt." —Roland Orzabal, on why the song was re-recorded

But I think it was more about the publicity. This version is very dumb, intentional or not.

  • Seriously, this song was re-recorded by Tears for Fears to publicize the Sports Aid charity event organized by Bob Geldof that raised money for the famine relief in Africa.

  • i want this to happen again!

  • Is the swimmer Duncan Goodhew on 0:05????

  • Better than the original

  • the extra synths are a catastrophe.

  • You got that right. Sound like a bad karaoke mix.

  • I Ran The World in 1986. Did you?

  • I'd love to say I did, but I hadn't been born until 1987.

  • I would have Ran the World but unfortunately, I wasn't born until 1991. I missed out on the entire 1980's.

  • where can i find this song on any tears for fears cd? lifelong fan! to add to my almost complete collection? AWESOME! maybe people should run a little more often nowadays what with obesity and all that. after all, everybody loves a happy ending!

  • the song is only a non-album single.

  • I ran the world!well...sort of walked and ran it,happy days!!!!

  • Whow! Who's the blonde in the end? hahahaha great tune, and great blonde!!!

  • TEARS FOR FEARS you'll be great forever.

  • I absolutely love this version. Chosen Few actually turned this and the regular version into a 6 minute song. It kicks ass.

  • thanks for this retro video rip!
