  • @lilrazor241 he's probably dead, but yeah. Progress.

  • I heard a snap on my friend's neck when i kicked it, is that a progress for me?

  • @lilrazor241 wow ....that's not the way you can test how powerful is your kick ....its easy to compare the neck or the head with the leg ....if you broke his neck ...that doesn't mean you are powerful ...try to broke his fist ..or arm ..or an part of the body that is solid ...chudan mawashi gerri means power ...and jodan mawashi geri should be very fast ( doesn't count the power ... on high kicks)

  • Can anyone tell me their opinion : hitting with the foot is dangerous for you than to hit with the shin bone ? Can you get your foot dislodged ?

  • @ciornianucristian hitting with your foot is generally better than hitting with your shin bone. For one, it's more painful if someone blocks you when you're kicking with your shin bone. and more importantly, there is more centrifugal force in your foot than in your shin just because it is farther away from you. when you use your foot, you aim to hit them at the base of your leg, right where your shin ends. so you wouldn't dislodge or dislocate your foot. I hope that answers your question.

  • @ciornianucristian hitting with ur foot is safer but doesnt hurt as more as hitting with ur shin

  • I can kick quite high but my leg wont be straight

  • Dude jus stumbles away like it wasnt shit

  • On my head? I don't want to kick myself!

  • E = MC2 x velocity (y3.14) density x 3% = PWNED

  • only problem with that jodan mawashi-geri was the guard should have kept the guard up for counter attacks.

  • the opponent MUST be ASLEEP to connect ANY High Kick, nuff said and thats a fact of the martial arts (of course if you somehow stun him, the maybe you can connect it, otherwise is nearly impossible)

  • @Halfort57 The notion that high kicks don't work is simply incorrect. The only people who believe that have never fought full-contact before.

  • @ThePinkMan and i repeat it, you MUST somehow stun your opponent (i really dont know how you could do it) because otherwise is just as simple as dodge it or block it

  • @Halfort57 It's just like any other move. You have to set it up, but if you land it clean you can knock your opponent out.

There are literally hundreds of videos out there where you can watch people getting knocked out with a high kick. Google "Mirko Cro Cop."

  • @Halfort57

u can't dodge it if you in the lethal zone of a kick and when i kick high kick i take in consideration that u can move a bit forward or backward in the split second that u have ) and to block it u have to be out of the lethal zone or else your hand is done for ,to do that u will have to read my movements and anticipate the high-kick and its not easy at all if we in approximately similar level of skill .

    fight that prove my point

    gabriel gonzaga 1 kick KO

    kung-le vs shamrock broken arm

  • @YouTubony the i guess i am kind of a master because i have been on 2 kick boxing matches (friendly) and in one of them my opponent tried to connect me a High Kick and that cost him the match (i block it and i start jabbing like an animal, and my opponent wasnt a n00b at all)

  • @Halfort57

if u bragging about a friendly match then u r n00b , full strength no holding back proper high kick in the right range will either get trough block or numb your hand very nicely many times it will make your blocking hand hit your face very soundly and the fast version is VERY fast its old news U won't even see it coming tword your head . for example

gonzaga VS crocop Kick KO google it

there are plenty more . so go educate yourself .

  • @YouTubony Your stupid as hell. First of all Gonzaga threw a round house kick. If you notice he hit him with his lower shin. Not foot. You can't even spell, and you're telling someone to educate themselves. Noob.

  • @YouTubony a freindly match means that its not a tournament match just thought id say :)

  • @Halfort57 You are a master after 2 friendly fights? I must tell my 6thDan Sensei , who has been training for 30 years and still does not consider himself to be a master about your incredible gift to the world of Karate!

No offence , but I hope that you are a kid , with an attitude like that..............

  • @RobMarx23 Actually a good round kick uses hips just as much. The only difference is the shinbone vs the instep. Both would become hardened over time.

  • Mirko CRO COP :D

That's his kick. man he shoulda act in "the expendables" instead of someone. or with them :D

  • Muay Thai kick would be worse as the Shin-Bone is what is used to hit as opposed to the instep of the foot in this video and the fact that Muay Thai uses the hips as opposed to the flick of the knee to generate power which would be substantially stronger than this kick.

  • Right leg hospital, left leg cemetery.

  • I think we used to call that a round kick?

  • @steelgila What style? For us it was a roundhouse kick.

  • @Luciole2831 Yes that was the term I heard people call it by as well, roundhouse kick. It was probably a slang derivation of round kick which is what most of the popular books(especially the Ohara Publications that I used to read back in the 70s) referred to it. I took Tae Kwon Do for a short period of time beforeI discovered Aikido and jumped on that. Our teacher was Kim Bo Yung ... someone said the style was the "Evergreen Way"(?)... he spoke little English or German. That was Germany.

  • @steelgila Yea i guess it's just because most every style of self defense has either a variation or the exact thing but naming it differently seeing as how most styles would claim they are the original with the exception of the few styles like Hwa rang that contain various things like taekwon do and jui jitsu. In my opinion the statement that all martial arts came from shaolin is true TO ME. Mostly because it seems very logical that shaolin use it for peace and then a king learns it for combat.

  • this one of the easiest kicks to execute and the hardest recieve

  • I don't even know what a louieville slugger is!

  • @eth92 its a baseball bat

  • @killsforfun69420

Thanks... now I'll ask my brother to grab me a baseball bat to test out on me, then ask him to perform the kick on me so I can compare it with the remaining 28 IQ still intact

  • This kick almost knocked me out... in full pads. My face still hurts.

  • Hey any one knows what programm is used to make this videos?

  • @parkourway I think they used motion capture. This clip was taken from a television show.

  • lmao I was at a tournament once and was watching one of the fights in my division. One of the dudes got high kicked just like this and he walked away exactly like the simulation dummy in the video!

Then he fell flat on his face.

  • Ok..these animations are great for the most part but there the toes need to be pulled back and kick with the ball of your foot. Kick something hard like a skull like that and you will break a lot of the bones in the top of your foot.

  • @ReviloWaldow

That is your way, the traditional karate way. However, true traditional karate didn't have high kicks at all. Shotokan karate started introducing high kicks to karate, and it passed on the striking with the ball of the foot.

However, that is not the best way to throw a kick. You're saying to trade busting foot bones with busting toes.

And in this video, the stress is mostly on the ankle, which is wrong, I agree.

You should hit with the part when the shin becomes the ankle.

  • @DaBhaalspawn As a true traditional karateka, I can agree with your point of view. in true traditional karate their aren't any high kicks, n on higher then the foot(stomping) to lower abdomen (any kick) at best. Even the karate katas don't contain many instances of kicks, very seldomly are kicks ever employed in katas which hold the blueprints and principles of karate.

  • @Dharma73

Yes, I think it was mainly because kicks were considered too risky. And I can agree with that when losing your balance and ending up on the ground could very well get you killed.

There wasn't any referee to stop the fight until you could get up again. Even the best high kickers lose balance and fall off from time to time.

  • @DaBhaalspawn yup, thats the way it is.

  • yeah , i was always taught to make contact with the lower part of the shin ... the tiny bones on the foot seem very vulnerable .

  • this might not be as powerful as a thai kick but it seems to be faster and with less telegraphed movement. I am willing to bet that that kick would put your ass to sleep everytime.

  • @THEpillows100 actually, i've been training mma for 2 years now, so how bout you shut your mouth! damn karatekas, thinking their fucking flashy kicks give 'em the right to act tough... learn to handle yourself on the street, before you get hurt... PROTIP: Stop learning karate, and learn Krav Maga or Silat, they are much more effective than your stupid karate bullshit...

  • @FiamskManiacBrainiac you know nothing you faghead. actually you can find lots of "flashy kick" knockouts in your beloved mma. And you cant train mma because its no sport you dickhead, you can learn different martial arts and mix them, that is mma. You dicksucking gaytard fagdickhead, try your gay ass krav maga after I kick you in your nonexisting balls, you will fall down like a 4 year old whimp

  • @FiamskManiacBrainiac I don't see Cro Cop limping out of the ring whenever he kicks someone in the head with his foot.. The truth is that it doesn't hurt that much... I've practiced it before on a tree. Yes, it did hurt, but i'm sure if it was a head instead of a tree that head would not be functioning very well.

  • @FiamskManiacBrainiac lol, krav maga or silat isnt even trained in mma. Now whose full of shit? lol

  • @ikcjjtt um.... what does MMA have to do with this? I'm talking about self-defense, you pansy! SELF-DEFENSE! True self-defense martial arts, like Krav Maga or Silat, help you to completely and utterly destroy any thug on the street (like THEpillows100) Thinking karate or any other bullshido martial art will save your life is like asking to get killed. Oh and btw, MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts, which could potentially include Krav Maga or Silat, making it a bit like self-defense MMA.

  • @FiamskManiacBrainiac im just saying i doubt u train any of those arts. there is no such thing as a superior martial art, its all in the situation and how u train it. But from my experiences, krav maga is nothing special and is mostly karate...

  • @ikcjjtt just because a technique isnt used in mma doesnt mean it does not work...

  • @kickboxvictor my entire point was Brainiac doesnt know what he is talking about.

  • @THEpillows100 i doubt you do martial arts, so i'll take your response with a grain of salt...

  • Do this, except with the shin. Result? No broken foot bones...

  • dont see why anyone would wanna kick someone right on the skull. its gonna hurt, really, unless the foot has been hardened a lot.

i would say go for the neck or ribs. softer target, might not knock him out but it sure will do as much damage.

quite often basic techniques will be just as effective as advanced ones. for example. kick a guy in the nuts. its really fast to do, and it probably hurts him more than making a 360 tornado kick to the side of his head. ofc it looks way cooler but meh :b

  • WOW!!!

  • keep pressing 6

  • u wouldn't want an asian dude doing that to ya

  • I really feel sorry for that grey guy who always get bashed up.

  • @Zetridor /watch?v=7YGJ-GE-46E you're wrong

  • @Zetridor they're bot gray and they both get bashed up

  • Do not strike with the flat of the foot but with the toe. It becomes much more effective and painful.

  • quick nerd question: what's the equation on 0:07?

  • the crocop

  • What is a Louisville slugger? Lol

  • @richardsoobhak It's a brand of baseball bat.

  • I've knocked people out in tournaments with this. but i faked with the hip to a low kick

quickly turned the hip more and higher the bring the kick up and down to the face... OHH did I ever enjoy it.

  • @raulurrutia lol, i sure you did buddy. Playing karate on your Xbox doesnt count

  • well, i have to take a shit.

  • LOL I WONDER HOW MANY PEOPLE TRY THESE AND FAIL

  • @WC1611 Nothing to do with it being a bad move, it's the fact taht bad martial artists try it.

  • @LightxKira5643 calm down son i never said it was a bad move.

  • fuck this

    kick with the shin

one big baseball bat sized bone is much less easy to get damaged

  • @SlaytanicMayhem I got the same opinion..

  • @SlaytanicMayhem Um im no pro but im pretty sure if there is enough force between your target and your shin, where your target is much harder like a knee? could mean a broken shin bone. Duno if im correct or not just saying, ive seen it happen, why do you think they have shin guards in soccer?

  • @243pie because they dont eat beans and they dont drink milk.

  • @243pie Yes you can break your shin of course, do you think Muay Thai ppl kick trees all the time beacause thay have nothing better to do?

And b'cuz you mentioned the knee, if you hit this kick wrong against the head you would do so much damage to it that by next morning it would look like a salami...and thats with the head never mind the knee

Heel, knee, shin are always the best options, even if this move is abt 30% faster.

  • Mirco cro cop!

  • i want that sliver guy as my body gard

  • Right leg hospital, left leg cemetery.

  • Where I train, we practice with the top of the foot like in this video when kicking to an opponents head, for safety reasons. However it'd actually be much more effective to use the ball of the foot, it has a much smaller contact zone.

  • @13Cam37 That's exactly what we learn on our training too. Smaller contact area gives more damage.

  • better to use the shin bone

  • @DeanHynd94 you could break your shin -.-

  • @megamanxdeath search Muay Thai

  • @megamanxdeath

you could break the any of the 26 small bones in your foot more easily, the shin is one large, sturdy bone

  • Man if someone gets kicked in the head they deserve it i mean they saw the kick coming lol

  • How about just naming this the roundhouse kick?

  • it s called Mawashi geri.

  • @mourajini so very true

  • this kick looks much like Taekwondo's dollyo chagi, only here they don't bring their kneeup as far as they should in dollyo chagi

  • wtf is a louis ville slugger?

  • @sigge951 It's a baseball bat.

  • @sigge951 I think its a baseball bat.

  • oh i meant to say that the instep can give you greater range and can be safer to execute (if you're too slow the enemy could grab your leg)! so this is the reason for a whipping surprise kick

obviously there are different opinions about it... but personally i would not try full force with instep against a hard target!

  • about instep: i have learned the head roundhouse kick as fast and whip-like. if you're hitting the head, even a lighter kick will make the enemy go to the ground, so we try to be fast and flicky. however for really heavy kicks (ribs and thighs) I was taught to use the shin.

for me it makes a lot of sense, maybe it does to you?

  • Karate the best way to get your own nose bleed.....

  • THE HOSPITAL KICK thumbs up if you know what it is

  • @BuffDuffforstuff22 i think i can have a good guess. Does it involves balls?

  • @BuffDuffforstuff22 No he is kicking with the left leg, so obviously, it's the "Cemetary kick". lol

  • @BuffDuffforstuff22 oh great now i wanna know wut that is! D:

  • @BuffDuffforstuff22 wheres the how to

  • @BuffDuffforstuff22

u probably mean GRAVE if u refer to MIRCO, 72 idiots

  • @BuffDuffforstuff22

    This is the cemetary kick...

  • everytime i see these vids, i play dragon fist 3 (flash game). really fun kicking lol

  • um this is a bad kick. Why u may ask, well can u tell me how many little bones are in ones foot. ok u figered that out ok now tell me how easy it is to brake these tiny bones. very easly now take a muay thai kick that uses the shinbone and do the same amount of force it becomes a lot more efective

  • @badboywest665 I see what you're saying, but the key to both kicks is conditioning the striking surface for impact. If the shinbone is not toughened enough, then the muay thai kick is a bad kick too. Same thing with fists, elbows and knees. Instep would take longer to toughen, which is why a lot of guys don't bother with it. So really, the only bad strike or kick is the one that hasn't been trained to handle the impact.

  • 2 Words: Mirko Crocop

  • @jajbee ...or Gabriel Gonzaga :0)

  • i knocked somebodys tooth out with that kick

  • Why did Silver Surfer kick with his instep? I believe the feet contain 1/4 of a human's bones, so he should have kicked with his lower shin. The guy getting hit might have a concussion, but the Silver Surfer might have a broken foot, so he won't be able to surf anymore :*(

  • @ogonga94 I see what you mean, but if your dojo trains the old fashioned way, you probably have spent years toughening your extremities to hold up against the impact. Dojos that train the modern way don't really do that, so yes, it wouldn't be wise for them to strike a hard target with a soft instep unless you have the right shoes for the job.

  • karate roundhouse kicks use the ball of the foot.

    karate-ball-range and penetration

    MT-shin-blunt force

TKD-instep- speed and ease of use.

  • @Hankthejollyspoon...round house with the ball of the foot?...that doesn't sound right..i mean you COULD do it that way, but if yr just a little off you'll break ur toes..not saying your wrong: and i don't wanna get into a heated comments war, i'm just saying: to me, i wouldn't ever do that kick that way..round house should ALWAYS be the space connecting your foot and your shin. its best that way, and thats the way i was taught in TKD.. :)

  • @REDSAMURAI307 I greatly appreciate your civil tone, it doesn't happen often.

but i did say that the instep was used in TKD, but the ball is used in karate. Many dojos teach instep kicking now because it is easier to learn but the original ones use the ball of the foot. essentially because a smaller striking area concentrates power, like a clumsy punch which hits with the top of the fingers would not do as much damage as the force concentrated on the first two knuckles.

  • @REDSAMURAI307 But your point about precision being important is true, if you miss you might break a toe, but if you miss with a TKD Round-house you might hit the top of the foot, which is really rather fragile with many tiny bones.

and, i say this with no intention to offend, just because you were taught that way does not mean it is best. for example; muay thai fights often decry TKD kicks as 'slappy' because they don't strike with the shin, which in their opinion is the proper way.

  • @Hankthejollyspoon ah, thank you for explaining that to me. again, i wasn't trying to say you were wrong, because i didn't do karate very long..just 3 months when i was 6 years old, i hardly remember anything. and your right, the instep just by thinking about it seems a lot easier then using the ball of the foot. but i can see the ball of the foot being a lot more powerful. personally i wouldn't want to kick like that because knowing my slow self id hurt myself trying. lol. and about muay thai..

  • (part 2) about muaythai, them guys are crazy, i hear they break shiznet in they're legs so it will heal back stronger...iv done that twice, but not because i chose to..i can only picture kicking with the shin..it hurts just thinking about it. lol. and your very right about the taekwondo way of round house, about if you hit a little low. 0:11- 0:13 is a perfect example of that. doing that burns pretty bad. lol. but they'res so many different ways of kicking, it's all just a matter of opinion. :)

  • @REDSAMURAI307 Really you could use either striking surface. Shotokan likes to use the ball of the foot, kyokushin actually has two types of roundhouses, one using the shin and the other the instep. Some karate styles use both. Ball of foot is mainly for smaller targets and accuracy. If you toughen those body parts enough (which shotokan and kyokushin do), you can pull it off. In the end, any body parts you use would have to be toughened enough to withstand the impact, or else...ouch!

  • @Hankthejollyspoon tkd uses ball

  • @RamSG9 im sure some do, unfortunately TKD has been hit harder than anything with regards to McDojos (McDojangs) and an instep kick is easier to learn.

  • i have practiced mma for about 19 years now and that is pretty easy to defend against

  • LOL LOL HAHHA WHY ALWAYS FORMULAS?? LOL you put that so everyone should be like WTF! That may be true lol lets fight the hypothenus ans sin of 36 degrees and wait let me bring a protactor and you know what HE WILL PUNCH YOU FIRST!

  • something tells me after watching this, i would really rather hit them with the lower part of my shin..

  • Probably the most devastating kick of them all. If you manage to do it carrectly, and with the right timing. Doing it against a sack in the gym is one thing, what makes it so hard is that in a real fight, you opponent isn´t going to stand very stil. But, with some luck, or if you manages to read his next move this can be the kick that ends the fight.

  • I THIINK I MISSED THE FIRST TIME I TRIED THIS AT A GUY WHO SAID SOMETHING ABOUT MY MUM .. I HITTED HE'S FACE WITH MY ADIDAS SHOES.

  • @flakrim12: Impressive, really, seriously that's why martial arts shouldn't be taught to idiots like you, you can kill someone with that, you want that on your conscience for the rest of your life? Because he said something about your mother?

  • @Jannisberg

Well, he needs to take the consequenses.

  • have you ever kicked someone like that in the head without shoes on. its a good way to injure yourself

  • they fail to mention that this technique has a 25% fail rate, IF you are used to kicking high. If you don't train this move at least 1000 times at perfection, if your opponent blocks it you are going down.

  • its mirko crocop

  • For that high kick to work, you must do the following:

Stretch out in a hot tub while holding a barbell for 10 hours a day

Do leg curls for 2 straight hours a day.

Anything else and you're asking to get ankle locked because high kicks aren't fast nor high enough to use in a real fight.

  • @EelSacul Bullshit.....

  • @EelSacul tell that to gabriel gonzaga. or to cro cop.

  • @gvallemartins

you cant compare gonzaga and cro cop..just cause gonzaga KO him..that was just bad luck for cro cop.

  • @EelSacul im 15, i kick high, i kick fast, i rarely stretch and im not soft, It depends on tecnique. but yea you cant be like a stick but it does not require much once you get good tecnique.

  • ... i know this is a simulation.. but i love how the taker is not floored during this simulation... that kick will break your neck.

  • @rakestraw305002

apparently you care cause you read've and bothered to reply

  • @rakestraw305002 And so it begins...

  • FALCON KICK

  • I like how every time the other model gets kicked or punched or whatever, he just kinda stumbles away like he was shoved a little bit.

  • He's probably like... Shit! in his head, but his body is in such a shock that it doesn't know what to do haha I REALLY like this one, cause it's like "It's the same as getting hit in the head with s baseball bat" and the guy is just like walking away like... Owww, jerk, I'm out of here... haha

  • OK fellow Martial Artists, lets all play sensei and correct everyone else in the comments section like the douchebags we are.

While we're at it lets correct the guys in the video! They obviously have no idea what they're talking about! WE'RE the true masters! Sure we can't prove any of what we're saying is anything but opinion but HEY at least we can talk big sitting behind these monitors!

  • @ItheSwick maybe so, but that kick was still done wrong.

  • @ikcjjtt it suppose to hit the jaw part.

  • @ItheSwick My fellow student...Go play ninja gaiden.Pick up some moves from it.I'm not stuffed to train you.You are correct.

  • @ItheSwick: Please just hush and watch the video. I mean you don't think that people who are serious about martial arts are clubmembers or anything similar? And claiming yourself to be a "true master" over internet makes you so much better then others here? Just patethic.

  • @Jannisberg

Haha. you have no life because you spend it typing these pointless essays to youtube hoping to get a degree on it. :D

  • @Jannisberg If you had anything beyond a third grade education you would have seen that the comment was DRIPPING with sarcasm because I'm sick of idiots like you who think they're Harvard grads, who would shit their pants if they tried talking shit like this to me face to face. Now why don't you "hush and watch the video" instead of trying to educate everybody with your obviously incredible knowledge of everything.

  • @ItheSwick Just shut it professor I know everything. I am no Harvard grad and don't think I am one either. So shut your pilehole and do something useful instead of trying to come up with good comebacks because that was probably the lamest one I've heard in years. By the way, when did I tried to educate someone, I'm just tired of dipshits like you gotta debate about everything and thinking you're some sort of a fucking ninja. Just shut it.

  • @Jannisberg I'm debating jackholes like YOU not martial arts. Shut my "PILEhole?" Nice. Now that you've been successfully made to look like a whiny bitch in front of everybody, move on with you pathetic life and go back to wishing you were a martial artist or at LEAST a valuable member of society. OR you can comment back and further degrade your already useless reputation. Which will it be sweetheart?

  • @ItheSwick Well played. That was good. You got a thumbs up from me! =)

  • @ItheSwick I'm down. It's not like they fight back!

  • @ItheSwick hehe

  • @ItheSwick you do not know how much i freaking agree with you on this

  • @ItheSwick ya know you make a good point...come here to check out the school i go too. schools in our region know who we our cuz we win alot: Gamaa.info

best in pennsylvania. im no master but i did just get my black belt and i know what im talking about...BTW its a roundhouse kick

  • @ItheSwick agreed It dffers from place to place how things are tought it could be as simple as a holster or where i learn karate we never are tought to aim for a head kick usualy in the core section of the body is where we are trained to aim a kick but yeah it all maters where you are taught There is no real right or wrong way unless you come from a McDojo

  • @Footbal72 Id say kicking against the head is allways the wrong idea, one misstake and youre standing there, completley of balance.

A nice stompkick against the knee tough :P

  • @ItheSwick fuckyou

  • @davidryanreus The only people that would get offended by this comment, are the people the comment describes. Thank you for revealing your true nature to the entire world.

By the way, your mom's pregnant

  • @ItheSwick thank heavens someone finally speaks the truth

  • did Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic have to come in and do the kick xD :P

  • ''It's like getting whacked in the head with a Louis Vuitton.....''

  • so much math in just a kick, its hard

  • FalcnKIIIIICK!
